Riva Starr feat. Dajae – The Loft

Jul 16 2015

Man, I don’t know about you, but I’m loving the summer anthems starting to come out. One track that’s causing a heatwave is London producer Riva Starr‘s “The Loft,” out this week on Cajual Records. From the sizzling high hats to classic 80’s stabs and vocals by legendary diva Dajae, it has all the marks of a Chicago house anthem. The track starts with Dajae reminiscing on parties back in the day, dropping shouts out to founding fathers Ron Hardy and Frankie Knuckles, and ultimately reminding us that “There’s no party like a house party.” The 808 snares flare in and out of classic keys whipping the crowd into a frenzy as smoky vocals tell us, “It’s house music.” A burner from front to back, you may need a cigarette by the time the claps fade out.

The EP also includes “Viniz,” a collab with Cajual label head Cajmere, and “Fever Pitch,” a tweaked out, bouncy tech house track. Listen to “The Loft” below and buy it here.
