This friday sees the premier of a new exciting clubnight in Malmö. San-One moves the club Booty and the Beat from Vega in Copenhagen to Deep in Malmö. The club gets a flying start with fellow Grinder the fabulous Boody B from Palms Out Sounds behind the decks! Also playing is Simon de la Onda, Hasan Ramic and Kungahuset is playing live.
Here is a mix done by San-one showing us what to expect on friday! Tracklist filled to the brim with B-more classics and heavy tunes.
No “Mixin It Up” today but we bring you this big mix from the Swedish producer duo Savage Skulls!
We were very excited and intrigued when we heard that a couple of Swedish producers was releasing an EP on the mighty label Dubsided. Then when we heard that one of the brightest stars on the Swedish hiphop scene Timbuktu was laying down the vocals on the track we were already jumping. The track that’s called “Bumps” turned out great, we play it all the time and Niklas used it in his Rodeo Mix.
BONUS: The brand new booming Savage Skulls remix of the next Miike Snow single “Black & Blue” (to be released October 19th with other remixes from Tiga, Caspa, Andy George & Jaymo and Netsky).
Time for a new remix competition and a pretty rare occasion to get big very quick in the techno game. The winner will be released on Jesse Roses own label Made to Play!
Here are the basics: Download the remix package for Riva Starrs upcoming track “I Was Drunk”. Be creative, show off your mad ideas and send the results over to us. Entries should be in a 320 bit mp3s and submitted to the Made To Play Dropbox with the prefix “Riva Starr Remix Contest” before the track title. Deadline is November 13th.
The winner will be announced mid-December here on Discobelle and the winning remix will then be sold on Beatport as part of the second single!
Riva Starr is playing at The Rumble in Malmö on saturday (September 19th) together with the fabolous Finnish duo Renaissance Man, Safari Sound and Jonte (from the club Function). Check the flyer after the jump!
This is for our local peeps: This fall we’re joining the dj crew Woobanger as residents for the monthly club Smuts at Babel in Malmö. Tonight is the first night and to make it even bigger we invited local dj hero Jonas Arbsjö and Malmö bass producer 2c-t-7. All kinds of bass music is promised and I have a real good feeling about this!
More info after the jump or over at the Smuts blog!
Swedish soundsystem Legobeat is about to release their first EP on PBP Records. We featured Legobeat a while ago in a “This week on Soundcloud” post and they also shared numerous remixes on the blog DBTY!. Inspiration comes from all over the place for the crew mixing dancehall, hiphop, baltimore club, juke, house and all kinds of club bangers. The “Appolonia” EP shows more of a techno side to the guys with hardhitting drums and a jungle atmosphere. Show them some love and download the track!
Akwaaba is a record label trying to spread music from Africa that has a hard time to reach a global market. The music spans from traditional folk, soul and reagge to more electronic club music like kuduro. Here is two tracks from their catalouge. First the track “Bobaraba” from the compilation Move It Chaleh!. Move It Chaleh focuses on “Coupé décalé” that is uptempo dance music from the Ivory coast and “Hiplife” from Ghana that mixes calypso, hiphop and dancehall.
The second track is Tiramikossa performed by Noite e Dia from the Kuduro comipilation Akwaaba Sem Transporte.
Akwaaba together with Mad Decent and Fairtilizer is hosting a fun remix competiton check it out here!
