For this week’s Discobelle Mix, we do a little cross-blog action with a specially curated set from Jimbo James, the San Diego based impresario over at Music Is 4 Lovers. As cofounder of the heavily lauded party brand, Lovelife, and current editor-in-chief at Mi4L, James wears a multitude of hats as an industry leader on the West Coast. From booking international headliners such as Claptone or Thugfucker to scheduling assignments for his blog contributors, from hosting events in LA or Tijuana to performing at Playa Del Carmen’s BPM festival…yes, it’s hard to imagine James finding a moments rest.

Always keeping up on his grind, James’ found the time to bang out this deep and moody mix for our exclusive series. We’re stoked to include him in our catalog of taste-makers and please do keep you eyes peeled for his upcoming live dates and weekly residencies.

NYC based producer/dj Higgins is at the forefront of the burgeoning new house/disco scene in the Big Apple and is also part of the notorious crew Kaviar Disco Club. He also just dropped his fantastic “Escape” EP (which you can listen to below) via our friends in Plant Music.

This exclusive Discobelle mix is a wonderfully spaced out and funked up house/disco affair that was recorded live at Le Bain in New York, we’ve been listening to this non-stop since we received it.

After a brief correspondence on Twitter the latest exclusive Discobelle mix was all set, Oakland rapper, dj and radio host Kreayshawn gives us a fantastic and frantic mix of all juke tracks that for certain will make your office be more like a sweat drenched cavern.

Known for his classically inspired sense of curation, Neil selects a cross section of bizarro-disco, vintage house, balearic oddities and dance floor burners for his mix. Clocking in at just over 90 minutes, this one is sure to get you pumped and primed for the club. Get up!

Another week, another fabulously groovy, Discobelle mix! Clocking in at the #159 spot in our exclusive series, we have Costa Rican disco impresario, Napoleon. As head honcho of the Wonderful Times label, he’s showcased such artists as Luvelss, VinylAddicted, Hotmood, Buzz Compass and Martin Hayes. As a producer, the young latino has scored releases on such illustrious imprints as Kolour LTD, Editorial Records, Editor’s Kutz and Masterworks Music, to name a few.

Napoleon turns in a fantastic mix chalked full of groovy, cosmic sounds… a perfect soundtrack for the changing seasons.

Dropping in for this weeks installment of the Discobelle mix is Shreveport, Louisiana based producer, Walter Jones. Mr. Jones has been composing music since the late Seventies and has amassed a solid catalog of work spanning multiple decades and genres. His heavily lauded debut on Westbound Music, “All God’s Children,” cemented his place in modern dance circles and subsequent outings for Permanent Vacation, Supersoul and DFA only went on to expand his audience.

We’re super stoked to present this new mixtape from the man… an impressive, 80 minute foray into deep and groovy sounds, mixed live and offered to you here. Stay up and keep your eyes peeled for his upcoming 12″ ep on the Whiskey Pickle label.
