Chromeo - Top 10 of 2008
Monday, August 25th, 2008Fairtilizer out of Switzerland is one of our favorite websites and they continously get the hottest stuff from the coolest acts, labels, blogs etc.
They just posted up a top 10 list of 2008 from Dave 1 who is the vocalist/guitarist in crazy Canadian electrofunk duo Chromeo + the Fairtilizer crew also managed to get a small interview with him.

It’s sunday and what better way to spend it than eating left over cake from the birthday dinner last night and listen to the latest tracks from Matt Plimsouls. First we have an instrumental track called “Nausea” that he finished two days ago and then we have his remix of the track “End It Tonight” from Aussie indiegroup Teenagers In Tokyo.

Kissey Asplund is a local Malmö singstress who is about to do it big, so when she appeared on this preview of the new “EFIL4FFUS” EP from Berlin beatmaker Suffdaddy that we got in the Discobelle mailbox there was no question about posting it. The EP itself features a song with Kisseys futuristic r’n'b vocals alongside performances by Miles Bony and Oddisee.

Pitbull and Lil Jon done did it again. On new track “Crazy” they sample yet another electro/techno anthem, this time they use Federico Franchis “Cream” which happens to be one of our favorite jams. Crazy indeed but we have a feeling this will pop off in the clubs…

Don Rimini remix competition

So, today is my birthday and what better way to celebrate than to provide all you faithful Discobelle readers and producers/dj’s with a competition.
French demon producer Don Rimini just released his “Kick N Run EP” on which the stormer of a track “Hools” is included. In collaboration with Darling Department and Mental Groove Records we give you the parts to the track and hope you’ll remix the hell out of them. We’ve got Don Rimini t-shirt and records for the lucky winners.
