The first album release on Italian label Lucky Beard Records comes from Florence based producer Digi, the fantastic album is entitled “Life After Shave” and fully embodies the boundless creativity of Digi with a sound ranging from P-Funk to footwork through jazz and experimental electronica in order to a unique and distinctive universe. Milan based producer Nobel has been slaying the European club scene and been on the radar here at Discobelle for a couple of years now with releases on esteemed labels such as No Brainer, Top Billin, Doner Music, Meanbucket, Cocobass and Lucky Beard. We’re super excited that he wanted to contribute to our mixtape series.

This raging mix featuring a ton of Nobel original productions starts off with a bubbly bass and soon gives way for all out vibes of futuristic club sounds with swirling, fluorescent synths, dark & grimey bass sounds and chopped up vocals.

Friday and we got an exclusive mix to tide you over until it’s time to get back to the office/factory floor/lecture hall or wherever you’re headed on monday morning.

Dante Sanders AKA DJ Taye might be the youngest member of the Chicago crew Teklife but don’t let his age fool you, he’s been producing and dj’ing since before his teens and should be considered one of the most exciting producers in the younger generation of footwork.

His exclusive mix for us at Discobelle consists the best coming from the footwork scene and includes a bunch of exclusives from his upcoming release on Hyperdub, this mix is filled to the brink with pumping bass, synths shining like diamonds and hooks that immediately sinks into your brain making this one seamless party packaged into a 50 minute long mix.

DJ Rashad was and still is a legend. Not only was he a Footwork and Juke pioneer but also one of the hardest working DJs and producers I’ve ever met. The dude really never stopped working. He was either globetrotting and spreading the sound of Chicago around the world or in the lab pushing himself to expand his sound further and further. In April 2014 the world lost one of the most inspiring and talented artists of our time. His spirit moves through Teklife, the dancers, his friends and everyone he has touched or influenced.

Over the past few years I’ve been lucky enough to collaborate with Rashad and even be remixed by him. The tracks were never completely finished and seemed impossible to finish after he passed. Eventually I mustered up enough courage to open the sessions and finish them. It is what Rashad would have wanted me to do.

“Movin’ Forward” is a collection of those collaborations plus two exclusive unreleased Machinedrum tracks that were heavily inspired by Rashad and the Teklife crew. I called it “Movin’ Forward” because I know Rashad wants everyone he touched to keep pushing themselves and follow in his footsteps on the path he had been creating all these years. I’m proud to have known him, shared the stage with him and to have collaborated with him. May his sound and spirit continue to inspire and spread through everyones speakers! Teklife to tha next life!!

R.I.P. DJ RASHAD”

“In spring 2012 an entourage from DWT went to Chicago to document the footwork scene. A scene ingrained in the lineage of the city itself, filled with effervescent dancers, storytellers and beatmakers. It was single handedly the most unique and in-depth tour we had ever experienced.

Featuring key players on the scene, such as DJ Rashad, DJ Spinn, Manny, Traxman and Arpebu. The team navigated through the South and West sides of the Windy City living with the GHETTOTEKNITIANZ or as they fondly refer to them self members of Teklife.

They slept on floors, sofas and in dodgy motels with their charming hosts. All the while managing to obtain un-seen footage from the finest producers, footworkers and the good people of Chi-Town.
It’s taken our team a long and painstaking while to put this together. We hope to do the people who shared their homes, talent and ultimately their lives with us, proud.

Go buy “NEXT LIFE” now! All profits go to Chad (DJ Rashad’s son)”

After conquering London with the House Of Trax club nights and starting up Trax Couture, London based dj/producer and purveyor of all things juke, footwork, ballroom, vogue, ghetto tech and other fast paced club genres Rushmore has translated the sweaty club nights with blistering releases on Hot Haus (an offshoot of the DJ Haus label Unknown To The Unknown).

His exclusive mix for us here at Discobelle literally starts off with a boom and then doesn’t let go with a raw and exquisite blend of bass filled club music.
