Bordeaux based electronic producer Uppermost could be next big thing emerging from the French electronic music scene, he has already seen support from media outlets such as BILLBOARD, Complex, Dancing Astronaut, YourEdm, Paper Mag, Magnetic Mag, Clash Mag, This Song Is Sick and Earmilk. He has also had the opportunity to work on official remixes for top acts such as Dada Life, Lemaitre and The Midnight.

His sound straddles between nu-disco and the signature French Touch, but Uppermost is also inspired by Persian music along with drawing inspiration from artists such as Bon Iver, Floating Points, Lane 8, and Crazy P.

We are able to premiere his upcoming single “Every Human Is An Artist”, slated for release on Friday November 15th via his own imprint, Uppwind Records.

The solid track is built upon an expanding bass and airy vocals that lingers on top along with cascading chimes.

“I have the feeling that every human being has a huge creative potential that can be expressed in a million different ways, I composed this track as a way to celebrate the beautiful power of plurality that makes sharing so important for all of us.”

Los Angeles based house wizard Pat Lok comes straight from a massively successful 2018 to start off 2019 with new single “From the Back” that features raunchy vocals from NYC transplant Dances with White Girls.

The track was made in collaboration with fellow Los Angeles duo Party Pupils, and it’s a seriously funky and thumping club ready nu-disco jam that we at Discobelle are stoked to premiere.

“I had been following PP on Twitter and saw they were talking about an A-Ha remix, so I reached out and sent them some piano ideas for it and that was how we connected. They’re based in LA so I went into the studio with Ryan one day and started playing out these chords, he put down some drums and very quickly we had a club jam! It very much captures the vibe and energy of our projects together.” – Pat Lok

Lok and Party Pupils plan to hit the road together on a US tour later this year.

Tomorrow Friday October 12th, Belgian label Eskimo Recordings releases the new single “Athena” from German nu-disco producer Satin Jackets.

“Athena” sees him collaborate with American born but Athens based artist Anduze and the driving rhythm along with the warm and breezy melody of the track matches the stunning and soulful vocals perfectly.

“Athens, Greece has always lured me in with her warmth, charm, and overall ancient beauty. After visiting each year for a decade, I was inspired to write about the city I now live in…Once I’d finished the lyrics, the musical landscape I thought would compliment it best was a vintage and melodic electro vibe. I’ve always loved Satin Jackets’ style and production, so I thought to reach out to Tim, and I feel so fortunate that we could collaborate. The result is just what I’d pictured it to be… Athena.”

On Friday September 7th we receive another edition of the Poolside series from Toolroom Records. “Poolside Ibiza 2018” is basically your essential collection of summer tracks to soundtrack those long hazy days spent by the pool, two very talented DJs were recruited to mix this year’s edition. They both hail from Portugal – Moullinex and Xinobi (the pair have releases on labels such as Ministry Of Sound, Nervous, Gomma, Anjunadeep) and they might just be two of the biggest artists in the indie dance/nu-disco world

The 40 tracks from a whole host of A-List DJs and producers including Moullinex, Xinobi, Eli & Fur, Moon Boots, Tensnake, Booka Shade, Hot Toddy, Art Of Tones, Cavego, Perel, Mambo Brothers, NTEIBINT, Justin Jay, Franky Rizardo, Bruxas, David Hohme, Moscoman, Simple Symmetry, Ali Kuru and many more alongside a brand new exclusive from Boys Get Hurt with Moullinex & Xinobi’s two full length DJ mixes completing the package.

Sacre – Stereo

Nov 30 2017

Parisian duo Sacre announces their debut EP and shares a new single “Stereo” that harkens back to the early days of nu-disco and garners comparisons with disco savants like Todd Terje and Lindstrom. The song features French rapper and fellow newcomer Dopize who adds hip hop flair on the third verse.

The Future Disco brand has been renowned for their iconic compilations since 2009 and the third release on the UK based label comes from Belgian producer Vhyce and his “The City EP” which brings out the funked up disco sound that’s made him a staple within the underground dance scene and is catapulting him to being one of the leading names within nu-disco.

The EP consists of three original tracks that all come with a retro disco reference and glimmering production work. We at Discobelle can premiere “Now You’re Gone” which is a groovy stomper.

LCAW steps up this month with one of the catchiest songs I’ve peeped this Summer. On top of the solid songmanship, what’s most impressive here is the use of real instruments in place of tired pre-sets for this funk-infused indie dance offering. A chilled dynamic with a toe-tapping pulse, that’s what ‘Nobody Else But You’ delivers, making the German talent one of the genre’s more imaginative prospects on the beat right now.
