33Hz – Nightspot (Eli Escobar’s Darkside Dub)

Speaking of why New York is still a huge cultural mecca of greatness, here’s a track in which Eli Escobar gives the members of 33Hz an 8 minute injection of heavy piano driven house that inadvertently ends up overshadowing the entire original version in terms of versatility. Blending together trace elements of old NY disco, French house, and the kind of rationale that leads one to leave the house at midnight and go to a club when they have to work at 7am the following morning, it’

The 12″ is out now on Dither Down.

Clotheslines

Tim Wagner of 33Hz is the man behind exciting new NYC based label Dither Down, who are about to release the “Clotheslines EP” from NYC singstress Saadi that features remixes from Daniel Haaksman, Douster, Lazy Flow and more. The Daniel Haaksman remix has already garnered well deserved praise from among others Sound Pellegrino Thermal Team and we’re happy to be giving it away as a Discobelle exclusive. The Man Recordings head honcho chips in some bubbling acid samba with his remix, which propells it straight to the dancefloor.

Tim from 33Hz hit us up with his latest mixtape + some info on his other projects. The mixtape is a collabo together with DJ Chicus. Enjoy! Tim also informed us that he’s in the process of revitalizing Dither Down, which was the label launched to release the Teki Latex track “Paris, Texas” a couple years back…Their first new artist has been signed and a release schedule for everything else that’s being set up for the fall will be available in the next couple of weeks. Sounds promising so try to check it out later on.

Duran Duran – Tempted (33Hz remix)

What? Duran Duran on Discobelle, you didn’t expect that. Well, neither did we.

Tim from 33Hz dropped this official remix of theirs in our mailbox. The NYC trio brings their r’n'b tinged electrosoul goodness to the old 80′s outfit, they keep the vocals but add a spazzy drum machine along with a variety of shouts, bleeps and beats turning this into one funky jam.
