Scion A/V Presents: Trouble & Bass

The Trouble & Bass crew out of NYC have gone from strength to strength during the last two years. They happen to be one of our favorite dj crews and now they’re about to follow in our footsteps with the latest edition of the Scion compilation CD series. This is the 25th edition and it’s packed to the brim with some of their heavy bass induced gems which we’ve all grown to love. We just received this spectacular promo mix that will show you exactly what Trouble & Bass are all about.

“Scion has partnered with Brooklyn-based label Trouble & Bass for the latest installment in the Scion CD Sampler Series. What is Trouble & Bass? Trouble happens every time the Brooklyn-based crew of Drop The Lime, AC Slater, Star Eyes and The Captain get together to throw legendary dance music events. Bass is everything, whether the backbone of releases on the Trouble & Bass label or the driving force of the ballistic, sweat-inducing DJ sets – all timeless rhythms, unforgettable melodies, and surprise after speaker-quaking surprise. If you’ve been missing the raw energy that made electronic music so exciting in the first place, this is where it’s been hiding. Trouble & Bass crew are the DJs who are defining a new New York sound and sharing it worldwide. Riot inciter Drop The Lime, formed the Voltron-like T&B a mere two years ago, but already they’ve earned kudos the world over!”

BONUS: Here are two of the tracks off the compilation. AC Slater with the dubsteppy, chainsaw bass wielding “Calm Down” and Trouble & Bass head honcho Drop The Lime with the fantastic “Tabac Theme”.

AC Slater – BanGer

This is the second release on Party Like Us Records and it’s from one of the hottest on the scene. AC Slater dissappoints noone with his intense and hard hitting sound. This track has been around before but here it is in 320 goodness and to top it off a remix from Drop The Lime.

“Complete with deep wobbly bass, a face melting solo and robot voices, this blog favorite is finally receiving an official mastered release with 4 slamming remixes. Drop The Lime takes it straight to the dancefloor on his warped and rolling remix, with bonus fart sample. Baltimore superstar Tittsworth’s remix is deeper and heavier with an amazing mash of techno and bmore. Inhouse artist B. Rich fuses electro and dubstep influences together into a nuclear powered remix, and Clark Able brings the techno flavor with a driving builder of a remix.”

This is actually released today so pick up the full release with additional remixes from Tittsworth, B. Rich and Clark Able AK-47 at Beatport or Juno.

Rock It Out

The latest release on the excellent Nightshifters label drops today and it’s the EP “Rock It Out” from Bushwick bass phantom AC Slater. We can seriously say that this is a destroyer, where you’ll find the urging vocals of “Get it down, rock it out” teaming up with a wobbly bassline!

AC Slater – Jack Got Jacked (Jack Beats remix) (Bok Bok edit)

Last october we posted this fab track from AC Slater and we even posted the Jack Beats remix. The original is a banger and Jack Beats remix adds enough ideas for a complete album! Bok Bok , who organize the club night Night Slugs and the blog Lover End Spasm, enjoyed the intro so much that he turned it into a song of its own.

Buy the full AC Slater “Jack Got Jacked EP” out on Palms Out Sounds here.

AC Slater – Party Like Us

Homies AC Slater, Udachi, and B. Rich started a new record label, Party Like Us Records, based out of Brooklyn, NY.

“The mission with Party Like Us is to release dancefloor friendly tracks that incorporate all kinds of classic dance music elements with a creative and original edge. Basically, we like heavy bass that pounds and drives the dancefloor.”

At the Discobelle HQ the obvious question was: Who doesn’t?

First out is AC Slater with the track that shares name with the label. The original surfaced on the internet already in 2007 but it gets a new life with brand new remixes from Udachi, The Bulgarian, Kanji Kinetic and Shy Child. They give away the original and the Udachi remix away for free and the rest you can pickup at Beatport on January 20th.

Hostage vs. AC Slater

Brooklyn producer, all around nice guy and killer dj AC Slater gives us his take on the track “Shake It” from Edinburgh producer Hostage. It’s driven by a wobbly bass, piano stabs and some scary ass vocals which makes this into a serious peak time banger. The “Shake It” EP was just released on Nightshifters and you should grab it ASAP.

Hostage – The Slave

Jess Jubilee and Jason Forrest (AKA DJ Donna Summer) are running the newly started Nightshifters label and now they’re dropping a bomb with the upcoming “Shake It EP” by Scottish producer Hostage. The EP features four prime time club bangers + remixes from Palms Out homie AC Slater and Jackmaster (of Australian duo Acid Jacks). We’re glad to be able to offer you one of the cuts from the EP, “The Slave” has a bit of that b-more sound but is more of a ravey synth stabbing and wonky bass monster.
