After a string of heaters and an exquisite debut album plus working with among others Teki Latex, Adrian Lux, Simon Emanuel, Vittorio Grasso and Lorentz. Swedish artist Alexis Weak decided to call it quits back in 2011. Now he returns with new track “Aldrig Nog” that features a James Blake sample and it’s like he was never away.
The new album from Swedish rapper Simon Emanuel “SÃ¥nger FrÃ¥n Andra VÃ¥ningen” will drop on October 26th but we can provide you with an exclusive track off the album.
“15 Ã…r” features a guest spot from newly retired rapper Alexis Weak and is based on a sample from Jonas Lundqvist (AKA Jonas Game). The track is produced by Stockholm tag team Up To No Good (Jeansbjörn & Alex Thunder) and they did an amazing job of turning this into a sentimental head nodder that still manages to pop off anthemlike.
Best Swedish album of 2011? Rapper Alexis Weak sure gives the rest of the music community in this country a run for its money with the release of his melancholic and poetic album “Till Minne Av” (already at the iTunes top spot) that’s drenched in electro/house beats. Grab the opening track “Släpp Taget” below…
The La Vida Locash crew have been running things here in Sweden for 10 years now and they’re celebrating with a huge birthday bash in Stockholm on friday that includes performances from Swedish house hero Adrian Lux, electro pop heroes Lo Fi Fnk, producer Kocky and Alexis Weak etc. If you’re around then head on over to Färgfabriken for a night that most likely will be legendary.
To promote the extravaganza, they gave us a mix with the best dance tracks from their catalogue, put it on and float away to La Vida land. And as a special treat, we have two spots on the guestlist for the first two people to e-mail us.
Details for the party along with tracklist for the mix after the jump.
