“Inward Spiral” is taken from “Explorations 09”, the latest offering in UK label Anjunadeep’s acclaimed compilation series and it’s also Manchester producer Jozef K’s label debut.

The track itself is an airy arrangement of subtle sounding synth work that plays like magic against the backdrop of stuttering claps and organic percussion, the track seems to be perfectly aimed at both dancefloors and sun-drenched festival grounds.

“I am inspired by all art that I am exposed to: from architecture to paintings to film and of course music – so it is quite hard to pinpoint a singular example. I use artistic influences combined with my mood in the studio that day, so basically it was inspired by my whole life to that point, which I guess sounds slightly ridiculous but also very true. I felt there was an ethereal, introspective quality to the record, hence the title.” – Jozef K

On Friday September 7th we receive another edition of the Poolside series from Toolroom Records. “Poolside Ibiza 2018” is basically your essential collection of summer tracks to soundtrack those long hazy days spent by the pool, two very talented DJs were recruited to mix this year’s edition. They both hail from Portugal – Moullinex and Xinobi (the pair have releases on labels such as Ministry Of Sound, Nervous, Gomma, Anjunadeep) and they might just be two of the biggest artists in the indie dance/nu-disco world

The 40 tracks from a whole host of A-List DJs and producers including Moullinex, Xinobi, Eli & Fur, Moon Boots, Tensnake, Booka Shade, Hot Toddy, Art Of Tones, Cavego, Perel, Mambo Brothers, NTEIBINT, Justin Jay, Franky Rizardo, Bruxas, David Hohme, Moscoman, Simple Symmetry, Ali Kuru and many more alongside a brand new exclusive from Boys Get Hurt with Moullinex & Xinobi’s two full length DJ mixes completing the package.

We at Discobelle can offer up the premiere of the track “Lost & Found” from Tokyo based producer Boys Get Hurt that features Tiago on vocals, it’s a superbly warm and sparking sounding House tune! Sit back, relax and unwind with Toolroom’s Poolside album.

On the cusp of releasing his full length album entitled “First Landing”via Anjunadeep later this summer, Moon Boots is blowing my mind with the second single to be revealed from the LP. “The Life Aquatic” is truly something unique, as the eclectic producer weaves arpeggiated melodies into the groovy, bumping bed of instrumentals that we’ve come to recognize him by. Dig in!

Is there anything that the Anjuna crew release that ISN’T bliss? “Aba” is out now, the newest single from label mainstay Lane 8 and collaborator Kidnap Kid. The two have individually emerged as some of electronic music’s most exciting talents in recent years, carving out stellar reputations with their unique melodic approaches. “Aba” is deep house in its purest form and it’s the perfect song to get your week started off on the right foot. Grab “Aba” on Spotify.

London producer Ashworth (with releases on labels such as Anjunadeep, Posterboy, NeedWant) showcases a spaced out, free flowing melodic house number entitled “Fine Dining”, the track is part of the “A Journey Around The Galaxies” compilation coming out on Troupe London (alongside the likes of Applebottom, Kalyde, A1 Bassline and loads more) December 22nd.

“To me, ‘Ghost’ is a song about unreturned love, and the feeling of invisibility that can go along with it. We wanted that emotional landscape to be explored in the video and really loved DEMS’ approach. I feel they created something aesthetically rich and textured, while also telling an interesting and relatable story.”

London based house music label Anjunadeep launched in 2005 as Above & Beyond’s label but in the years since then it has taken on a life of its own. With an aesthetic just as thoughtfully curated as its releases, Anjunadeep is purposefully minimal yet meaningful. In addition to hosting a weekly radio show “The Anjunadeep Edition,” the label focuses on promoting rising deep house artists and has propelled the careers of such artists as Lancelot (we’ve written about Goldroom’s remix of his track “We Can Dance” several years ago), Shur-i-kan, and Amine Edge. Take a listen to some of our selections of recent Anjunadeep releases below.

Forthcoming on the mighty, Anjunadeep, the new single from Germany based producer, Lane 8. ‘Diamonds’ shows the young producer coming into his own with a confident stride on this heart-wrenching ode to lost love that features the wonderful vocal talents of Solomun Grey. A shimmering, hypnotic piano riff gently carries us atop a bed of light percussion and bubbly arpeggios whilst Grey’s lamenting voice chroons softly into the cosmos.
