Swedish festival Into The Valley has already been named one of the top festivals in the world and it hasn’t even taken place yet, it’s a two day celebration of electronic music where Dalhalla – a former limestone quarry and one of the most unique venues in Sweden – is rebuilt to an open air club. The festival takes place from July 31st to August 2nd in Dalhalla, outside of Rättvik which is located about 280 kilometres from Stockholm and tickets are available here. Artists performing includes Four Tet, Mount Kimbie, Nicolas Jaar, Ricardo Villalobos, John Talabot, Richie Hawtin, Carl Craig, Âme,
Axel Boman, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Nina Kraviz, Ida Engberg, Benoit & Sergio, Genius Of Time, Dixon, Kim Ann Foxman, Baba Stiltz, Kornel Kovacs etc.

Into The Valley takes the pulse of the city to the heart of the forest. By being an extension of previous projects the club feeling is intact, though the context is different. An urban club environment is recreated, and maximized while sound, machinery and lineup aligns with Dalhalla’s majestic backdrop of trees, water and sky. The limestone quarry transforms into a stew of deep electronics and artificially created light warped far from its original destination. Into The Valley is a dream come true for everyone involved, and expectations are high.

We here at Discobelle have teamed up with the organizers Segren Hedlund and will present exclusive mixes from some of the performing artists in the weeks leading up to the festival, first out we have an amazing mix from Stockholm dj/producer Jessie Granqvist who gives us 58 minutes of dark and brooding techno, perfect to listen to in the summer heat.

The new AUDION (the moniker of Matthew Dear) single “Dem Howl” featuring the vocal offerings of Danish artist Troels Abrahamsen was released yesterday via Kompakt and it’s a 7 minute long driven, emotional techno infused anthem that has already received love from big names such as Skream, Jamie XX, Daniel Avery, Axel Boman, Mano Le Tough etc. The single comes fully packed with remixes from techno legends Joris Voorn and Michael Mayer.

Kornél Kovacs was born in Stockholm and grew up listening to his Hungarian parents’ Kraftwerk tapes while taking drum, piano and singing classes, fell in love with jungle at the early age of 10 and started djing professionally three years later. Back in 2006 Kornél started throwing parties in his hometown, playing at clubs and festivals all around Sweden as well as in Tokyo, Mexico City, New York, London, Barcelona, Berlin and wherenot. He then began hosting the highly influential P3 Dans show on Swedish national radio, partook in the 2008 Red Bull Music Academy and played a smashing peak time set for a packed Sónar By Day stage in 2009 and continued his quest for world dominance with starting the record label/dj trio/love thang Studio Barnhus together with Axel Boman and Petter Nordkvist.

Last year year he started the Puss label together HNNY and now we get his new vinyl only single “1985 Edits” which is basically three stupid fresh edits of tracks from the year he was born, to celebrate the release we here at Discobelle got an exclusive mix recorded live in the basement of the Marie Laveau club in Stockholm that takes on a booming ride through the Kornel soundscape of dirty techno, smooth house and raved up sounds.

BONUS: As an exclusive download, Kornél graciously gave us the cozy, heartfelt and pianobased B-side track “Björn”. Enjoy!

Well known Stockholm producer/dj Axel Boman is on the verge of releasing his anticipated debut album “Family Vacation” (November 11th). Until we can hear the album next week and to celebrate reaching 20 000 followers on Twitter + 11 000 fans on Facebook he awards us all with this magnificent edit of “Riding High On Love” originally done by Jr Walker & The All Stars.

It’s almost the weekend, Stockholm based producer and part of the Studio Barnhus crew Axel Boman makes us get in the right mood with the help of his recent stunning set at the Beats In Space radio show.

Axel also just dropped new track “Fantastic Piano” (taken off his upcoming album of “weid Jamaican space disco” which will drop in November) which sees a classic piano interspersed with funky drums and a booming kick in order to create one elegant sounding track.
