tuomi – Girl

Nov 20 2018

A wonderful piece of subtle electronica influenced r’n’b from Brighton producer tuomi, “Girl” has already seen support from among others BBC Radio 1 Xtra.

Bristol duo Paragon (Tom Wheeler & Sam Shotaka) have with only four releases made their mark on the airways and in the clubs, gaining support from Spotify (Fresh Finds, New Music Friday UK), BBC Radio 1 (Toddla T), 1Xtra, Triple J (Hitlist), Kiss, Capital and many more. The duo incorporates elements of UK garage, house, drum and bass, dubstep and grime in their sound.

Now they team up with vocalist David Boomah (who is perhaps best known for his work with UK drum and bass artists such as Shy FX and Rene LaVice) for new single “Get Involved” (drops tomorrow February 15th via Paragon Sound/[PIAS]) which is a massive soul-infused bassed up house tune that has all the makings of being a serious party destroyer.

“David’s vocals just cut through anything as heavy and dark as you can make. Perfect for the style, he gets the message through and lifts it higher on each verse and chorus. Musically its about tension, release, and anticipation. You know what’s coming, enjoy the journey and then when it hits it gives you that rush and keeps you hooked for the next drop”

Oslo based production/dj duo Loveless (Eirik Tillerli and Filip Kollsete) might have only released one official EP but they have already managed to gather both domestic and international attention with frequent rotation on Norwegian national radio, featured on BBC Radio 1 Xtra’s “Record of the Week” along with support from big blogs such as Earmilk, Complex UK, Hypetrak and Selected.

They’re now gearing up for a busy end of the year starting with today’s release of new melancholic, housed up dance pop single “Bad 4 U” which features the vocal offerings of Stockholm based artist Awa (who won the Swedish X-Factor at only 15). She then finished school, released two singles – the latest one called “Obvious” which got attention in the UK. Loveless tells us: “We loved her song ‘Obvious’ and her voice, so we contacted her on a trip to Stockholm. We loved the vibe with her and [songwriter] Leslie Tay, and “Bad 4 U” is a result of that.”
