Lisbon based globe-trotting production wizard and one of the founding members of Buraka Som Sistema – Branko – returns after a very successful and hectic 2013 with the announcement of the upcoming “Control” EP (drops April 7th).

The title track features the unique and energetic vocals of Yadi and Estonian based producer Bert on Beats, and it’s an Arabian-inspired powerful club anthem with a bassline that twists alongside a hypnotic melody.

NYC label Trouble & Bass continues to heat up things with another fine release of excellent club music, Estonian producer/dj Bert On Beats steps up to the plate with three fantastic dancefloor tracks on his “Modern Vampires EP” (released today) that all contain the signature Trouble & Bass heavy bass style.

The exclusive Discobelle premiere of the track “Get Your Freak On” sees funky handclaps paired up with urging cut up vocal samples, wobbly bass and buzzing synths to form an ass-shaking tropical percussion tinged tune.

A new EP from Daniel Haaksman drops today, the “More Rambazamba” release is the massive remix version of his debut album “Rambazamba” that was released about a year ago. Loosely translated as “more mayhem, on this release once again Daniel takes us to a land filled with tropical bass and urging rythms. The remixes comes from a wide variety of producers such as French Fries, Bert On Beats, Kry Wolf, Schlachthofbronx, Chrissy Murderbot, Jan Driver etc. We here at Discobelle can proudly offer you a bumping remix made by Hamburg’s own So Shifty.

Not only is Daniel Haaksman releasing his new “More Rambazamba” today, he’s also playing here in Malmö at new club night Be Right Bass at Babel. Discobelle DJ’s will be in the bar while Beatable and Danish sensation Linkoban will join in on the fun in the main room.

The Enchufada label, home of kuduro kings Buraka Som Sistema, this week the label releases the fifth in their Hard Ass Sessions series featuring an international line-up consisting of NYC producer/dj Kingdom, Montreal’s world traveller Poirier, Bert on Beats and Pocz & Pocheko, each of whom have risen to the challenge and created their own unique take on a kuduro beat.

Montreal’s Poirier should be well known for the avid Discobelle reader, he is a rising DJ/producer who, in his own words, focuses his productions on “the fusion of Caribbean and electronic music.” Never afraid to integrate a myriad of influences in his music, he rose to the Hard Ass challenge admirably with the track “Vivendo Juntos”, his first ever foray into kuduro and you can check out the video above.

With the release of “Hard Ass Sessions Vol. V” (dropping in April with contributions from Kingdom, Poirier, Bert On Beats and Pocz & Pacheko etc.), portuguese label Enchufada further deepens their reign of releasing bass pounding and booty rattling kuduro compilations which sole mission is to make you get down and dirty. Check this video for the Pocz & Pacheko track “Tuki Love” for inspiration…

We are co-signing off on this one so go get it when it drops!

“Enter… SEKTA. Producer, dj, promoter, graphic designer, a true renaissance man from Poland.

When he’s not co-promoting and organizing bookings for the Warsaw’s most popular club night – ‘Sorry, Ghettoblaster’ (guests include: Renaissance Man, Riva Starr, Zombie Disco Squad, Sweat X, Congorock, The Bloody Beetroots, Shadowdancer, etc you get the picture, big parties), Sekta works on his productions that range from ghettoed-out bass music to smoother housier styles, not forgetting the techy elements here and there. The outcome of his latest efforts is the fresh EP, recorded with Spoek Mathambo(if you’ve been listening you’ve heard of him already for sure, who could miss the prince of township tech from South Africa), the vocalist of Sweat X and Playdoe.

Just like the music styles that have been flooding the dancefloors of the best club nights around the world, the tracks of Sekta and Spoek ooze with an african-heavy-bass-uk-funky groove. This means of course steaming hot tribal drums mixed together with digital calimba and massive bass and bangin on in the dancefloor.

Also… the list of artists doing remixes is sweet and should get you drooling, presenting names such as: Man Recordings boss Daniel Haaksman, fresh Dirtybird signee Julio Bashmore, Camel, Brazil’s toughest import Edu K, one of Dutch’s finest Kid Kaio, Top Billin’s own Raziek, Palms Out associate Dubbel Dutch, Doc Daneeka, Bert On Beats, Femme En Fourrure,Darling Farah and of course Top Billin (!).”
