We have the remix from Canadian power duo Jokers Of The Scene (btw, happy belated Canada day you guys!) which doesn’t go as hard as their previous tracks but keeps the focus on a more minimal and melodic sound with fistpumping breaks – although they still keep it dark and moody – showing that they’ve spent alot of time in Berlin.

dadahack is the new cross-continent dance-electronica outfit. The name dadahack may be new to you but the duo behind the act are by no means in-experienced – the UK’s James Banbury and Swedish based producer, Pete Davis have production credits including Blackbox Recorder, Gwen Stefani, Wiley, Talvin Singh and Bloc Party.

The first material they are teasing out is a taste-maker EP called “Hellos”. A heady mix of house, nu-disco, electro and sleaze. The original track ‘Hello Dust’ features the new fashioned vocals of Hannah Robinson, which gets a remix treatment from the prolific Swedish producer, Håkan Libo.

Also on the package are three more laternate takes. A sensational 11-minute gritty electro workout from Freelance Hellraiser that never tires the ears (my personal favourite). Something a bit edgier from dadahack themselves – weapon of choice for Faithless DJ, Sister Bliss – and a relaxing skippy trip alternative version from Tranquility Bass.

Here is a High Contrast remix of the title track ‘Kaleidoscope’ from Tiësto‘s new album of the same name – which also features collaborations with Calvin Harris, Kele Okereke from Bloc Party, Nelly Furtado, Tegan & Sara, Kianna from Tilly and The Wall, Emily Haines from Metric, and Jónsi from Icelandic post rock outfit Sigur Rós. It is without a doubt an album full of the most credible names and stars from all walks of the musical stratosphere at the moment…

Since the success with my MGMT mix, Vice decided that they are going to continue to ask DJs to remix tracks from a certain artist. The second mix is with Bloc Party mixed by our friends in Top Billin. This is what Nenis from Top Billin had to say about the mix:

“We took on making a mix with that punk attitude, keeping the dynamics there so that it wouldn’t be too smooth operator mix, but have that rock feel in it.
