Naeem (formerly known as Spank Rock) has just announced his new alias and shares the first song from this new chapter. The frantic sounding track “Sway(e)d” was released last week via Boysnoize Records. Earlier this year, Bon Iver brought Naeem on stage at Bonnaroo to debut three new songs from the project.

“Sway(e)d” marks the first official release, and is reminiscent of the old Spank Rock sound but tackles the feelings of paranoid confusion, desperation and aggression felt globally these past few years. It’s a call on listeners to lift up the downtrodden.”

Not really sure how I missed the release of this compilation. Last month Boys Noize released the sixth edition of his Miami compilation, a collection of tracks that pushes the boundaries of techno music to bring us some of the grittiest, dirtiest tunes. My personal favorites are Sinden’s attitude fueld “Pussy,” Jensen Inceptor’s acid tech “Sexting,” and Cardopusher’s “Timestamp.” You can stream the latter two below or head over to Soundcloud to listen to the compilation in its entirety.

Our friends in Toronto outfit RYME (consisting of Rynecologist and Meech) have been honing their skills for the better part of a decade before joining forces due to their love of Chicago house, Detroit techno and Baltimore club dropping their joint debut EP “Bak Den” last year on BNR Trax.

2015 sees them emerging with a second EP for the same label and new single “Pussé/Time 2 Bump” was released yesterday.

The b-side track “Time 2 Bump” is a simple yet highly effective tool that doesn’t shy away from its main focus, to make you dance. We at Discobelle are offering up the exclusive remix from UK legend Sinden who twists up an off-kilter beat, chopped vocals and razor sharp synths to create a monster.
