Lisbon producer Branko dropped his debut solo album “ATLAS” last year, a track that didn’t make it onto the album is the soulful song “Reserva Pra Dois” which features hypnotizing vocals by Cape Verdean artist Mayra Andrade. The track sounds like what you would listen to after a cleansing summer rain.
“I made this song back in march 2015 while I was working on my debut album ‘Atlas’. I’ve been a fan of Mayra Andrade’s work for a long time, so when the opportunity came for me to get in the studio with her I had to grab it like my life depended on it. I called Kalaf to come help us with the words and all together we came up with the concept in less than 24 hours. It wasn’t part of the album because I wasn’t fully happy with my production work, but after a while I picked it up again and was able to put together something that sounded a lot more interesting to me.”
Buraka Som Sistema is gearing up for a final tour before they go on an indefinite hiatus (I KNOW WE’RE SOBBING TOO), and in April, they will be venturing into the US leg of their tour. We asked them what they were blasting while they toured the Northern hemisphere, and they gladly gave us some of their fantastic secret weapons.

Branko’s solo debut album “ATLAS” dropped in September 2015 and has now been expanded with a new edition adding exclusive remixes of the original songs, new artwork, bonus tracks, a sample pack and much more. “ATLAS Expanded” dropped yesterday on Bittorrent Bundle.
Branko hooked up with some of his favorite producers from all across the global club music scene to rework the music from his album, including Enchufada regulars like Dotorado Pro, Rastronaut and Ckrono & Slesh, but also NAAFI’s Lao, South Africa’s Jumping Back Slash and many more who transforms the songs into new and unexpected directions all while keeping the dancefloor in check.
This remix from Belgian producer Max Le Daron of the track “out Of Sight” offers a late night tropical house sound with subdued vibes
Last year, the Baltimore duo Normaling (.rar Kelly and DJ Lemz) released the booming and dancefloor destroying track “Low Drop” last year via Space Is The Place Records and it immediately picked up plays from the likes of Teki Latex, Spank Rock, Branko, Lewis Cancut etc.
Now, about a year later we get the remix EP for the single and we here at Discobelle can premiere a remix from two of NYC’s tropical bass heavyweights – namely Banginclude & Comrade who drops a Caribbean kind of feel with fancy flutework and a bootyshaking beat.
After travelling to Lisbon, New York, São Paulo, Cape Town, and Amsterdam, and working with 20+ collaborators including Mr.Carmack, DJ Sliink, Princess Nokia, Capadose, and more, co-founder of legendary global bass music phenomena Buraka Som Sistema – Branko – has made his solo debut with the fantastic fulllength album “Atlas”. Branko arrives at Output in New York on Wednesday September 30th for a special label night, Enchufada x Que Bajo?!, with Dengue Dengue Dengue, Geko Jones, and Uproot Andy.
One lucky winner will receive two tickets for the event, just answer this simple question and you’ll be in the draw: What’s the name of the video series that Branko did together with Red Bull for the release of the album? Send your answers to: firstname.lastname@example.org before 1PM CET on September 30th.
