Brenmar – Let Me Hit Dat

Feels like just yesterday that Brenmar was tearing through Japan, marvelling at the heated toilet seats and wandering through Harajuku’s parks. Now he’s off again on a European tour accompanied by Dillon Francis and tomorrow night’s Boiler Room guest Mele.

In preparation for this tour, we’ve got a Chicago styled sex anthem re-edited with some twerky electronic noodling courtesy of Brenmar. It’s definitely the kind of thing you don’t want to play in a car if you’re driving your grandmother somewhere. Not that that just happened to me… i’m.,.. just saying.

Brenmar – Temperature Rising

The mighty Brenmar with what sounds like another stellar release, “Temperature Rising” is taken from his upcoming “Let’s Pretend EP” which will drop October 31st on Hum + Buzz.

Brenmar By Antwan D. 1

Ralphi Rosario – You Used 2 Hold Me (Brenmar Remix)

Something feels unmistakably sincere about the music Brenmar touches – whether in the sample laden edits of overlooked classics like Cassie’s “Me & U” or original tracks that showcase a deep affection for HipHop, RnB, Bass, House, Juke and the aesthetics of the club, there’s almost always a sense that Chicago’s Bill Salas is making music that he himself would jump around to with hands thrown in the air if it came on in the club.

Releasing a new track every time he hits a new 1000 followers on twitter, Brenmar just dropped the latest one, a 2011 update to Ralphi Rosario’s classic house track. Definitely for the clubs and accompanying DJs, it’s the kind of thing that will evoke nostalgia and make you want to design some futuristic two-step cooking dance synthesizing moves at the same time too.

1984-La-Mecca-DBR011

1984 – Exclusive Summer Mix For Discobelle 2011

1984 released his debut EP “La Mecca” right here on Discobelle Records a couple of months ago and it’s been getting some amazing feedback. Diplo just played one of the tracks from the EP on his latest Sirius/XM “Blow Your Head”-show (he also played Brenmars “Taking It Down”). 1984 also got a new mix out that you should check out. He’s got some pure fire in there.

You can also check out 1984 performing at Starlight festival with Mathias Khaden, J-Wow (Buraka Som Sistema), Blatta & Inesha, Gigi Barocco etc. on August 9-10th, then on August 13th at the Not Festival with Apparat, Carl Craig, Francesco Tristano etc. and finally on the 14th at the Sicily Music Village with Goose, Kissogram, Jeff Mills and more.

As a bonus we received this new track from him:

Brenmar’s ‘Slow Grind, Deep Hustle’ Dummy Mix

This red, hot mix for London based publication Dummy Magazine from Brooklyn producer/dj Brenmar is our jam of the moment.

“It’s basically a collection of some of my favorite late 90s, early 2000 R&B tracks. It’s for when you’re in the car or back at your place with that special girl/boy. They are all hits but I tried to keep it varied, you got those “official” hits and then some lesser known gems.”

The mix is made up entirely of tracks from the current & previous Hard Ass Sessions compilations, as expected this will make you shake your booty.

Brenmar – So High

Brenmar follows up his debut “At It Again” EP on Discobelle Records with the banging number “Let Me Know (Tasting)” out June 20th on Sindens Grizzly label. Continuing with his perfect blend of UK Funky, house, bass and r’n'b/hip hop to create next level vibes. The opening track “So High” pops off with pounding drums, a crafty vocal sample and a crisp synthline.

Brenmar – Taking It Down (video)

Big one for you right here!

This is the third official video for a Discobelle Records release and in this amazing looking video for the Brenmar track “Taking It Down” (off his debut release “At It Again”) director Pam Tietze takes Bill to a barbershop for a trim, said barbershop transforms to a club complete with goldsprinkled dancers and from thereon things get crunk.

PS. EU citizens, Brenmar will be playing all over Europe late may/june. Tourdates after the jump.

ITFW – Aaliyah Re-Edits

There’s something about the frigidity of Montreal that gives its artists an extra, desperation driven push of creativity. A product of seven out of twelve months likely containing snowstorms, maybe? Whatever it is, it’s probably found abundantly in ITFW, two DJs from the curbs of Montreal, Azamat B and Sinjin Hawke.

Resident DJs of “Boomclap”, they host a weekly friday night party focusing on classic house sounds, detroit techno, chicago juke, with new and old school rap and r&b. Finding a good balance in the Canadian club scene is a difficult thing, but even though the night just began in January 2011, the Boomclap soundcrew has already hosted the likes of Lunice, Jacques Greene, Dubbel Dutch, our Discobelle fam LOL Boys (who also curate the guests), Samo Sound Boy, Brenmar, Prince Club, and many more, for only $5 a night too.

For those of you not in Montreal to experience the magic firsthand only to stumble out into the street searching for $2 chow mein with peanut butter sauce afterwards, the ITFW boys have done an EP of Aaliyah remixes that embody the heart and soul of the party.

While Aaliyah remixes these days need to be examined seriously for the level of necessity of their creation, this package is brimming with five amazing reinterpretations of the original tracks that do their thing and let the vocals shine while still adding some great flourishes.

Grab all five below and show some support for Boomclap if you’re anywhere even remotely near Canada.
