Apart from all the blogging, we DJ quite a lot. We play the same sort of music that we post, so if you like the blog – you’re going to have a good time on our dancefloor as well. Okay all you dance music singers out there – this one is for you. We’ve teamed up with Scion to find three names that will get the chance to to record (and get paid for) tracks to be released on their label, Scion A/V. They’ve put a sweet team together that will judge your lovely voices too: Dave 1 (Chromeo), Franki Chan (iHeartcomix) and Christopher Roberts from (Vice Records).

What you need to do is:

* Visit this site
* Send in a two track demo showing off your vocal skills along with an entry form
* Hope that you become one of the 30 semi-finalists.

Nuff said. The last day for entry is the 15th of December, Get over there straight away and start singing, Sally.

Justice NYE contest

This is something you all should try to enter, a huge Justice contest and there’s not really alot you have to do. But the actual price is to spend an all expenses paid New Years Eve at the Revolution Number 9 New Years Eve party in Chicago together with Justice, So Me, Willy Joy, Zebo, The Glamour and lots more! There’s over 6000 $ in prizes available to the entrants including cash money, limited edition custom merchandise and of course the glory.

In order to win all you have to is shoot a 1-2 minute video/short film which showcases “HOW YOU WERE GREAT IN 2008″, what did you do that was great? Whether you were filming, making music, playing, listening, drawing, snapping photos, writing, traveling, touring, blogging, promoting something you love, voting, or just being good at being you. You have until November 26th and the entries will be judged by a panel of celebrity judges and affiliates.

This is how you enter:

1) Head on over to the Industreate contest page and sign up.

2) Create a video/short film of “HOW YOU WERE GREAT IN 2008″.

3) Upload the actual video to Vimeo and you have to tag it with “JST4ALL” and with “DISCOBELLE”.

Tyken (ft. ADL) – Let It Rain (Trevor Loveys remix) + contest

Tyken is dynamic duo Carl Ryden (producer who is based in London and has worked with David Guetta, Chris Lake, Todd Terry and Kenny Dope to name a few) and Fredrik Nyberg (AKA DJ Nibc who’s been doing it big in Sweden but have now relocated to Berlin).

On their new single “Let It Rain” they get some help from fellow Swede, rapper ADL and also British producer Trevor Loveys who does a fidgety reworking of the track.

Get out of the Garage

Converse and Journey are having a “Get out of the Garage” competition. Basically, Converse is taking original song submissions for a chance to win a free trip to NYC for 4 days, 3 nights of free studio time, for the winner, to create and mix their song. The final winner will be chosen by Downtown Records (Gnarls Barkley, Amanda Blank, Justice, Kid Sister, etc.). Turn in your stuff and win the prize!

I don’t know why Converse didn’t do the contest with us but I guess we are not big enough, but at least we got some breadcrumbs. We have got 1 pair of Chuck Taylor All-Star shoes + swag from Downtown Records to give away to one winner.
