Well, here as I had promised (as a gift for all & after being repeatedly asked by many friends whom connected with my creativity, while on the road, about this full version) is the entire ‘un-edited’ recording to coincide with your holiday seasons festivities & listening pleasures in 2011 & beyond… All ‘original wax pressings’ were used for this mix. Mixpak Record’s knack for unexpected collaborations might be one of its greatest strengths as a label, from Dre Skull and Vybz Kartel’s recent dancehall crossover album to even stranger pairings such as Dam Funk + Lil Scrappy grooving together on the same track.

Now, fresh off his latest “Rapper Turned Singer” EP on Mixpak, Andy Petr is a producer who’s in tune with this collaborative mindset. The first installment of this collaborative impulse comes in a set of free Mixpak EPs of raw material – first up is this eight track EP brimming with lots of noteable stuff: Synth lines to cause heart palpatations, hazy, almost-placeable hip hop vocals dragged out overtop the tracks, and maybe most importantly, several collaborations with weed-obsessed genius Dro Carey.

“ATL RMX” is the latest compilation from the Adult Swim network, it features remixes of tracks done by a wide variety of Atlanta rappers such as Young Jeezy, Gucci Mane, Cee-Lo, OJ Da Juiceman, Young Dro, Pill, Playboy Tre etc. The remixes comes from the likes of HEALTH, Flying Lotus, Mad Decent, XXXChange, Memory Tapes, Salem, Dam-Funk, Starkey, Drums Of Death and a bunch of others. We haven’t heard of NYC four piece Cubic Zirconia before but this release with its remix package certainly opened our eyes. Their new anthemlike single “Fuck Work” comes backed with some huge remixes from amonng others: Proper Villains & Jubilee, Dances With White Girls, Dekker & Johan, Andy George and Dam Funk. We received this remix by that excellent Toronto duo Nacho Lovers who gives us a Chicago house goodie, or as they simply put it:

“We took it back to Chicago for this one. Work it girl. Work it.”
