Taken By Trees – Watch The Waves

Here’s a track from Swedish singstress Victoria Bergsman AKA Taken By Trees. “Watch The Waves” is an airy track which contains what sounds like Spanish flamenco guitars, it’s lifted from her upcoming album “East Of Eden” (produced by fellow Swede Dan Lissvik, ½ of balearic masters Studio). (Thanks to Gorilla Vs Bear)

The Crépes

The Crépes are the new Swedish pop super duo which consists of Fredrik Lindson (½ of The Embassy) + Dan Lissvik (½ of Studio). They just released their first vinyl album “What Else?” on Information Records a couple of days ago and it almost immediately sold out (stray copies may be found over at Juno, Phonica or Piccadilly. You can also wait until August 27th for the CD/digital release). The title track – “What Else” – is not as breezy and balearic as their regular outfits but it’s a captivating piece of pop music.

Lake Heartbeat

Lake Heartbeat is the new project from 90′s Swedish indiepop icon Janne Kask (formerly of a group called Brainpool). The quiet pop single “Between Dreams” was produced by Dan Lissvik (of Studio fame) and was just released on Service which happens to be one of the best labels in Sweden (think The Tough Alliance, Jens Lekman etc).

Fever Ray – When I Grow Up (Håkan Lidbo remix)

Second remix of the latest single “When I Grow Up” from Fever Ray, this one by Swedish experimental electronic producer Håkan Lidbo is nothing at all like the previous tantalizing remix done by Studios very own Dan Lissvik. On this remix, Håkan twists, chops and cut ups the track and in the process pretty much turns into a full blown dance track.

Fever Ray – When I Grow Up (Dan Lissvik remix)

“When I Grow Up” is the upcoming single from Fever Ray and it’s transformed by Dan Lissvik (of Studio) from a dark and eerie track into a slice of light balearicpop complete with panflutes and children’s voices in the background.

Dan Lissvik – Track 5 (video)

Video of “Track 5″ from the Dan Lissvik (1/2 of Studio) album “7 Trx + Intermission”. We posted “Track 6″ a few weeks ago. (Thanks to Johan at Rodeo)

Dan Lissvik

Dan Lissvik is 1/2 of Gothenburg balearic disco duo known as Studio. He’s about to release his solo effort “7 Trx + Intermission” on Information in november (it will be available from the usual suspects such as Phonica, Piccadilly and Rough Trade).

This is “Track 6″, it doesn’t stray too far away from the Studio sound with a laidback feel and some sweet pitter-pattering drums. It’s almost like lush wave of wonderful and hypnotic Mediterranean disco bliss caressing your ears.
