Formerly known as DJ Apt One, Philadelphia based Michael Fichman now goes under the moniker Michael The Lion, he is staple within the Philly music scene and is involved with among others the Soul Clap Records and the Razor N’ Tape crews. His productions showcases his warm and fuzzy feelings for disco, soul and funk.

This exclusive mix done for us here at Discobelle includes lots of his own edits and productions alongside some disco classics to create a funked up, soulful and practically unstoppable mix that will make sure to turn your listening session into a partyfilled affair wherever you may be.

The mix also includes two new songs from the forthcoming Michael The Lion vinyl EP which will be released via Soul Clap Records in April. One of the songs is the amazing “Get It On” (featuring Amy Douglas on vocal duties) and can be downloaded for free below.

Los Angeles based rapper/dj/producer/artist Chippy Nonstop drops the first Discobelle mix of 2017 and this is half an hour of non-stop, frantic party fun with bassfilled and sweatinducing tracks ranging from dance, reggaeton, grime to future club.

We were surprised to learn that Philadelphia based producer/dj and Deluxxx/Mad Decent affiliate Dirty South Joe actually never done a mix for us here at Discobelle even though he’s been featured numerous times. We decided that we needed to amend that ASAP thus here’s his offering to the Discobelle mix series, the last mix of 2016 and it goes hard with a rundown of alot of amazing rap tracks and this will you have your New Year’s Eve party turn lit in no time.

Tracklist after the jump.

Bawrut is an old friend of ours here at Discobelle, an Italian born producer/dj that nowadays calls Madrid home, a city where he’s started up his own label Silencio (which has already garnered attention of house music aficionados worldwide with a series of strong releases).

This exclusive mix for us here at Discobelle is a full on acidic/Chicago house assault filled with a spectacular groove and some serious tribal elements which will most likely have you forget all about Christmas and instead go search for a club where you can dance til you can’t stand up anymore.

PS. Bawrut’s new EP ” Rumba” was premiered by Boiler Room about two months ago and will be out on Ransom Note Rec end of January 2017. All the 3 tracks are included in the mixtape, check out the title track below.

Berlin based producer/dj Nhan Solo (who also spearheads prominent label Mother Recordings) got some Scandinavian hype going with a mix offering dropping both over at our extended fam in HMWL and with us here at Discobelle during the same week.

This mix of only Mother Recordings tracks is the perfect beacon of warm sounding and soulful house to make us last through what seems like an everlasting period of of darkness, 1 hour of vibesfilled tunes in a flawless and superbly solid flow.

For the avid reader of Discobelle, the name DJ Wool should be associated with superb dj sets (he’s a former DMC champion) and seriosuly bumping tracks on labels such as Top Billin, Plant Music, Discobelle Records etc. along with being a member of popular indie/dance duo The Glass. He’s also a maestro in the mixing/production room having worked with the likes of REM, Dolores O’Riordan (The Cranberries), Spoek Mathambo, Todd Terry, Far East Movement, Herbert Gronemeyer, Jagz Kooner, Howie B, Andy Rourke (The Smiths), Tittsworth and many more.

After spending time in New York and Berlin, Dublin born DJ Wool has relocated to Northern California where he’s working as an audio engineer and has also been hard at work in his studio with new album “A Life In Breaks” which will be released on October 21st via NYC label Dither Down.

This absolutely astounding and warm, organic sounding mix for us sees him exploring breaks, minimal and ambient AKA “Ambi-Rock” and it’s inspired by what made him start his music career back in the 90’s.

Hyped UK based house/bass dj/producer Ray Sargent has been receiving praise from the likes of Complex UK and numerous music blogs as well as BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra plays in the last months and he is the latest in line to step up for an exclusive Discobelle mix. This debut mix is equally eclectic and amazing and he describes it as: A soundtrack to London summer.

“This mix includes some of my new music and a collection of what I’m getting off on at the moment, along with exclusive bootlegs I’ve collected and created over the past few months. It twists and turns from a summery House, Pop vibe into unexpected Bassline, RnB and Soulful territories.”

Tracklist for the mix can be found after the jump.
