Dicky Trisco, the inimitable, globe-trotting disco-jock and head honcho (alongside the legendary Pete Herbert) at such luminous labels as Disco Deviance, Secret Squirrel, Special Edition, and File Under Disco is on deck for our latest installment of the Discobelle Mix. His insatiable touring schedule and world class productions have made him a legend in his own right and we’re grateful that he was able to squeeze us into his busy calendar.

The boogie is thick on this one as Mr. Trisco laces us with almost 2 hours of pure, funk power. Dig in and let the man provide a soundtrack that is sure to carry you through your hump-day and all the way into the weekend.

Hotmood drops in for the latest installment of our exclusive mix series to lay down the funk vibes with a heavy dose of his signature sounds. Hotmood caught a lot of attention with his debut 12″ for the Chicago imprint, Tugboat Edits, just earlier this year and we just couldn’t resist inviting him to do a mix for us. Low-slung and sample-heavy is what you’ll get when to tap into Hotmood… his skills in the studio are matched only by his skills behind the decks as this mix clearly displays. Dig in!

dj-wool

For the avid reader of Discobelle, the name DJ Wool should be associated with superb dj sets (he’s a former DMC champion) and seriosuly bumping tracks on labels such as Top Billin, Plant Music, Discobelle Records etc. along with being a member of popular indie/dance duo The Glass. He’s also a maestro in the mixing/production room having worked with the likes of REM, Dolores O’Riordan (The Cranberries), Spoek Mathambo, Todd Terry, Far East Movement, Herbert Gronemeyer, Jagz Kooner, Howie B, Andy Rourke (The Smiths), Tittsworth and many more.

After spending time in New York and Berlin, Dublin born DJ Wool has relocated to Northern California where he’s working as an audio engineer and has also been hard at work in his studio with new album “A Life In Breaks” which will be released on October 21st via NYC label Dither Down.

This absolutely astounding and warm, organic sounding mix for us sees him exploring breaks, minimal and ambient AKA “Ambi-Rock” and it’s inspired by what made him start his music career back in the 90’s.

Nachtbraker, the Dutch producer and resident “weirdo” of the Heist Recordings camp (which is helmed by Detroit Swindle and includes FOUK, Brame & Hamo and Andy Hart in it’s artist stable) recorded this Live mix especially for our exclusive series and we are beyond stoked to present it here. Captured at the recent Heist label night at Prince Charles in Berlin, our boy lays down a 90 minute set rich with deep vibes, tribal percussion and wonky grooves.

Aside from globetrotting and dropping huge DJ sets, the young producer has been on a role as of late, having just released his third EP for Heist (more info here) and scoring an appearance on the 100th release compilation for Dirt Crew (more here). To top it all off, he’s also found the time to launch his own imprint, Quartet Series, which has hosted the likes of S3A, Ponty Mython, Saine and Crackazat.

Ray-Sargent

Hyped UK based house/bass dj/producer Ray Sargent has been receiving praise from the likes of Complex UK and numerous music blogs as well as BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra plays in the last months and he is the latest in line to step up for an exclusive Discobelle mix. This debut mix is equally eclectic and amazing and he describes it as: A soundtrack to London summer.

“This mix includes some of my new music and a collection of what I’m getting off on at the moment, along with exclusive bootlegs I’ve collected and created over the past few months. It twists and turns from a summery House, Pop vibe into unexpected Bassline, RnB and Soulful territories.”

Tracklist for the mix can be found after the jump.
