The Best Of Everything

French prodigy and dance music wizard Brodinski killing the mix competition with the release of not one but two mixes today in the form of “The Best Of Everything”, one mix dedicated to hip hop and the other to electro, Brodinski flawlessly juggles the two.

“Brodi’s newest endeavour is The Best Of Everything, a two-paged love letter to music delivered in the shape of a free mixtape. On side B, the natural born DJ delivers a hard-hitting techno set, showing of his finesse and seemingly effortless flexibility. On side A, however, we hear him furiously cutting and pasting between hip-hop and old school rap – this collaboration with his good friend DJ Orgasmic shows a different side of the so-called techno prodigy. “I love hip-hop, there’s so much good productions coming out, every day I discover something exciting.”

Teki Latex together with the Sound Pellegrino/Institubes team just provided us with the remix parts for this remix competition for his Noob produced WMC hit track “Dinosaurs With Guns”, an infectious track which is guaranteed to get its own dance before the summer has started.

Here are the details:

Deadline is May 19th meaning that you’ll have exactly 3 weeks to turn in your entry.

Prizes:

Third place: Love, glory and respect all over the internets
Second place: The above + a voucher on the Institubes online store
First place: A spot on the “Dinosaurs With Guns” remix package to drop on Sound Pellegrino this summer

United Groove (Sound Pellegrino Thermal Team VIP Dub)

You all know L-Vis 1990 and his bomb of a track “United Groove” which has slain dancefloors across the globe since its release last year. Sound Pellegrino Thermal Team (AKA label founders Teki Latex and DJ Orgasmic) made a remix of the track for the second part of the remix EP which was just released by Mad Decent. Their remix has been a staple in our dj sets for some time now, the sinister synth action and Tekis urging chant has stirred a frenzy among plenty of crowds. Now, Teki and partner crime Orgasmic hands us an excellent VIP dub version of the track.

“Basically it’s a stripped down version of our remix. My monologue from the beginning is still here but Orgasmic got rid of the synth line, replacing it with uplifting chant/stabs and percussive madness.”

Orgasmic/Teki mix

Mr Fairtilizer with a tip on a new mix from Teki Latex and DJ Orgasmic to promote fresh new label Sound Pellegrino. The first release is coming from our favorite London blokes – Zombie Disco Squad. Here’s some info on the label from Teki:

“Sound Pellegrino’s sonic identity is a paradox. When I play the current house and techno music that I like to my French “banging electro” friends they think it’s minimal. When I play it to minimal DJs they think it bangs too hard. We love hard stuff when it’s creative and groovy, and we love minimalist music when it’s not boring nore serious. The first two Sound Pellegrino releases totally embody that state of mind.”

And some info on that first release which looks to be straight fire:

“Zombie Disco Squad are two London blokes with a passion for forest grooves and tribal drums as well as profound respect for pure house music and classy techno. In-between releases for two of the most acclaimed electronic music labels of today (Claude Von Stroke’s Dirtybird and Jesse Rose’s Made To Play) they made us the honor to inaugurate Sound Pellegrino with the release of their single “Esperanto/Eurovision”. The two Baile House bangers merge South American accordions with mini B-more rythms made playable at Panorama Bar. With Mowgli providing an eerie horror score take on “Eurovision” and Solo remixing “Esperanto” into a deep techno sure shot, we could easily tell you this release represents House music’s cultural diversity at its best–but frankly, who cares about the whole “world music” shtick anyway? These four bangers will rock any club and it’s all that matters.”

Forthcoming release is coming from Argentina’s French expat Douster with “Freak Mode/For Weirdos Only”, re-inventing jacking house into a half intimate-half frenetic wonky banjo ride.
