There was a lot of talk of Drake slowing down in the wake of the phenomenal success of More Life, an album marketed a playlist which kept with the OVO founder’s knack for global chart domination. Everyone but Drake himself seems to have gotten that memo, with a brand new single emerging from the Toronto heavyweight in the same week as feature spots alongside DJ Khalid and Metro Boomin surfaced.
As premiered during the Louis Vuitton SS Men’s show at Paris Fashion Week, the single has made its way down the runway and promptly on streaming services worldwide. ‘Signs’ lands fusing those now familiar island vibes with a more docile example of Drake’s renowned wordplay, keeping all eyes and ears on one of the least cringeworthy fashion/music collabs of 2017 so far.
This is that fire, we’re thoroughly enjoying the vibe on this Drake rework from Yaeji.
New tracks from Drake and this week is already off to a great start!
Malmö rapper Rebstar (internationally known for his work with the likes of Drake, Trey Songz, The Weeknd etc.) finally dropped his debut album “Girls Like Nicole” last friday (June 3rd) via Today Is Vintage and it’s 11 tracks of heartfelt hip hop with alot of warmth that still maintains an ear to the street and to Swedish hit making territory. Reb wears his heart on his sleeve for this one and it’s a magnificent album.
PS. New Yorkers, check out Rebstar at the Northside Festival on June 11th and on June 15th at Gramercy Theatre.
