AC Slater – BanGer

Monday, March 30th, 2009

This is the second release on Party Like Us Records and it’s from one of the hottest on the scene. AC Slater dissappoints noone with his intense and hard hitting sound. This track has been around before but here it is in 320 goodness and to top it off a remix from Drop The Lime.

“Complete with deep wobbly bass, a face melting solo and robot voices, this blog favorite is finally receiving an official mastered release with 4 slamming remixes. Drop The Lime takes it straight to the dancefloor on his warped and rolling remix, with bonus fart sample. Baltimore superstar Tittsworth’s remix is deeper and heavier with an amazing mash of techno and bmore. Inhouse artist B. Rich fuses electro and dubstep influences together into a nuclear powered remix, and Clark Able brings the techno flavor with a driving builder of a remix.”

This is actually released today so pick up the full release with additional remixes from Tittsworth, B. Rich and Clark Able AK-47 at Beatport or Juno.

Mishka presents: Keep Watch Vol. 7 – Trouble & Bass Crew

Wednesday, March 25th, 2009

kw7tb_cdcoverfront

Another huge one from Mishka who really spoiled us this last year with their solid mixtape series. The seventh installment features Star Eyes, The Captain and Drop the Lime from Trouble & Bass and they provides us with a collection of the latest heavy rave anthems. Get retarded ya’ll!!!

This Mishka collabo with Trouble and Bass seems only logic since Luca aka DTL is one of the cover faces for Mishka and both the T&B label and Mishka is Brooklyn based.

“Trouble & Bass is the sound of staying up all night and getting wild in the streets, sweat dripping off the walls and speakers pounding in your face. For the last four years, T&B has brought raw energy back to dancefloors worldwide by effortlessly flipping bass music in all its forms. The crew is full of surprises, taking influences from house, electro, dubstep, drum & bass, metal and hip-hop to form an entirely new genre simply known as “heavy bass.””

Luca Venezia AKA Drop The Lime AKA Curses! has constantly been killing it, no matter what alter ego he uses. “The Deep End” (will be released by Institubes in March) sees him churn out a disco/house rocker with the infectious vocals of NYC singstress Maggie Horn and now fellow NYC duo Holy Ghost! comes along and turns it into an epic 8 minute burner and also adding the lovely Nancy Whang (of LCD Soundsystem/Juan MacLean fame) to the mix.

DTL vs. DOD

Heavy bass champion Drop The Lime releases what could be one of the biggest tracks in months. “Hear Me” drops on Trouble & Bass today and new British whiz producer Drums Of Death has been killing it lately and this evil remix is no exception. It made the rounds last week but we just got permission to post it. DOD keeps most of Lucas vocals and heavy bass but adds some trickery and voila!

Night Slugs vs. Trouble & Bass

The mighty Trouble & Bass crew (Drop The Lime, The Captain, Star Eyes & Math Head) will take the jump across the Atlantic to London tomorrow for an apperance at Night Slugs (run by our homie Alex Bok Bok). The night will serve as a launch party for the fantastic new Drop The Lime single “Hear Me” and it will most likely be insane. Those of you in London should try to hit this but those of us unfortunate not be able to make it to this will have to listen to these tracks + mixes while imaging being liquored up and feeling that bass pound against our bodies.

First out is this tune by L-Vis 1990:

L-Vis 1990 – Apple Bass (zShare)

Then we have a Bok Bok tune from the start of 08 that never saw the light of day:

Bok Bok – Whole World Changing 4×4 (zShare)

Then we have this brand new Drop The Lime mix on which Luca sings and everything:

Drop The Lime – Summer City Heat mix (Sendspace)

Last but not least a Bok Bok and L-Vis 1990 back to back effort from the Night Slugs show on Sub FM last week.

“Lots of dubplates, UK house and deep vocal flavas on this one as well as our usual heavyeight bassline selection (though less of that and more of the percussive shit) – definitely a showcase of how we’re sounding at the moment!”

Little Jinder remix EP

20-year-old Stockholm electropop singstress Little Jinder is one of our favorite acts to emerge from this fair country during the last year. Now she’s releasing the remix version of her debut EP “Polyhedron” on NYC label Trouble & Bass. The EP sees remixes from top heavy bass players such as Drop The Lime, AC Slater, Goon & Koyote, Math Head etc. French producer Mikix The Cat also did one and it’s the one we have for you today. Mikix gives us a version that’s starts out all slow and sweet with a steady beat and Josefines pretty voice but then quickly dissolves into a sharp and wobbly basspacked ride bound for the dancefloor.
