The Toxic Avenger

Our French buddy, the electro demon known as The Toxic Avenger, is about to release two new records on September 29th. A new 12″ entitled “Toxic Is Dead” (out on Iheartcomix and it comes backed with remixes from Drop The Lime, Franki Chan and South Central) and also a Scion CD sampler compilation of that includes 5 new original tracks and of course a myriade of heavy remixes from the likes of Switch, The Juan Maclean, Acid Girls, Jakwob, Designer Drugs, Harvard Bass, Ocelot, Ladytron and Burns. He is also heading out on a Scion release tour in October to support the CD sampler, stops will be NYC, Austin, Cleveland and Philly.

We’ve got the storming title track “Toxic Is Dead” + an absolutely stunning tribalistic remix from the oh so talented L.A duo Acid Girls of the track “любовь навсегда”.

Chrissy Murderbot

This post has been way too long in the making but here it finally is. Chrissy Murderbot is just about to release his new album on Sleazetone Records come September 1st and it combines elements of juke, dubstep, old-skool rave, bassline, and dancehall. It’s already been getting plays from heavy hitters such as Diplo, Drop The Lime, Rob Da Bank and DJ Donna Summer. The track “Roll Another One” sees sizzurp superstar Hawatha Hurd add his Texan drawl to an infectious juke/dubsteppy beat (fellow Grinder Alex Bok Bok made a fantastic version of the track where he mixed it up with Gregor Salto for his Mixin’ It Up).

They happen to be one of our favorite dj crews and now they’re about to follow in our footsteps with the latest edition of the Scion compilation CD series. This is the 25th edition and it’s packed to the brim with some of their heavy bass induced gems which we’ve all grown to love. Disappear

The Trouble & Bass crew out of NYC seem hellbent on world domination, they’ve taken their bass heavy induced music across the world and everywhere they go they turn party crowds into devout bass believers.

Star Eyes has been dj’ing since the age of 15 and now it’s time for her to drop her first EP “Disappear” which is filled with what should be called “haunted house”. The title track is produced with Drop The Lime and it’s a raved up acid bass monster with mind boggling backwards vocals whereas this remix by Paris own Trouble & Bass bandit Mikix The Cat shows us what happens when you incorporate some of that French flavoured house.

This is the second release on Party Like Us Records and it’s from one of the hottest on the scene. AC Slater dissappoints noone with his intense and hard hitting sound. This track has been around before but here it is in 320 goodness and to top it off a remix from Drop The Lime.

“Complete with deep wobbly bass, a face melting solo and robot voices, this blog favorite is finally receiving an official mastered release with 4 slamming remixes. Drop The Lime takes it straight to the dancefloor on his warped and rolling remix, with bonus fart sample. This Mishka collabo with Trouble and Bass seems only logic since Luca aka DTL is one of the cover faces for Mishka and both the T&B label and Mishka is Brooklyn based.

The Deep End

Luca Venezia AKA Drop The Lime AKA Curses! has constantly been killing it, no matter what alter ego he uses. “The Deep End” (will be released by Institubes in March) sees him churn out a disco/house rocker with the infectious vocals of NYC singstress Maggie Horn and now fellow NYC duo Holy Ghost! comes along and turns it into an epic 8 minute burner and also adding the lovely Nancy Whang (of LCD Soundsystem/Juan MacLean fame) to the mix.
