“The two Reims-based producers Andrea Starosse and Julien Salman started working together under their moniker Art Nouveau after running into each other in a clubnight in – ironically enough – Paris. They create a rich and colourful sound that’s inspired by different forms of house music but they also draw a lot inspiration from world music, which is clearly audible in their universal sound. In the past they have sent out demos to the Australian duo Yolanda Be Cool who picked up their single “Miracle” to get a release on their label Sweat It Out! and meanwhile they’ve been working together with Get Flavor Records too. Today, our first release MVSEVM – French Jeans is released all over the internet (iTunes, Juno, Amazon, etc). We are really happy with all the positive response we have been getting from everyone (great support from a lot of DJs, played on Kissy Sell Out’s show on BBC 1 two weeks in a row now, Big Tune of the Week on Joe Ransom’s show on Kiss 100).

Here are the two new tracks in the Bacardi B-LIVE series. First a track from from our man Edu K who might be the hardest working man in the game. We are so grateful that he had the time to do a remix on our first release and what a remix it was. And the remix comes from no other then Brodinski.

“Edu K is one of Brazil’s hottest dance music exports. He started out playing in punk band De Falla then made his name with a series of releases based on the baile funk sound of Brazil’s favelas. It has been a while since we started to look for something worthy enough for us to release on Discobelle Records. When we found this Finnish trio in MVSEVM we knew we were on to something big. And big it is. This was what we were looking for.

We also wanted to work with some of our favourite producers on the remixes, so we went hunting for people who could spin this around and give their own personal touch to the track. I think we and they did good.

Australian Grinders Scatterblog are working hard down in Melbourne with various club nights, radio shows etc. plus they happen to run one of our favorite blogs and on top of that they have their own label called Scatter Music. The third release on the imprint is the EP “Ja Mann” from hard working and brilliant Brazilian producer Edu K which will drop on December 22nd. The EP features remixes from a variety of producers, including up and coming Austin producer Dubbel Dutch, Swiss homie WILDLIFE!, Scatterblog affiliates Mom & Dad, Slap & Dash (who are in the process of doing a Mixin’ It Up for us here at Discobelle), Lewis CanCut etc. This remix of the b-side track “Jumpin n Pumpin” comes courtesy of our friends in Finnish tag team Femme En Fourrure who gives us this techy, tribal number which has already worked wonders for us on the floor.
