In Ya Face

The “In Ya Face EP” is just about to be released (March 9th) on Seclusiasis and it’s a huge dancefloor stormer. Often referred to as the first track to identify Philadelphian production team Dev79 and Starkeys “Street Bass” sound, the original version of this bassheavy tune starts with a throbbing and lurching rhythm mixing with the samples to set the mood before the full on 4×4 dancefloor action kicks in with the cut-up girl rapping “In Ya Face”.

Brazil’s wild man producer/MC/DJ Edu K, Venezuelan producer/DJ Pharaoh (of Todosantos fame), Torontos very own Egyptrixx and Chi-town favorite Willy Joy all sprinkle some remix goodness on the EP.

Scatterblog bonanza

The people behind one of Australias top blogs Scatterblog are about to turn it up a notch with the launch of the digital label with same name, the first release is limited edition compilation “Real Music For Hustlers” which features 21 tracks from the Scatterblog crew (Scattermish, Mu-Gen, Mat Cant, Paz, Lewis Cancut, Slap & Dash, Digital Manges etc.) of almost all new and unreleased tracks, along with hidden tracks from Brazilian mad man Edu K and Baltimore legend Scottie B. A limited amount of physical copies will be available at the Edu K gig on the February 21st @ The Espy in Melbourne. They’re also planning to release some of the originals as singles in the future.

Here’s an exclusive original track of b-more bumping goodness that they were nice enough to send over.

Edu K – Raver Lovin (Nadastrom remix)

Brazilian baile funk maestro Edu K with yet another hot release on Sweat It Out (you might remember his previous effort). The new “Raver Lovin” EP will drop on January 31st. Vocals on the track are delivered by Sydney rap queen MC Gaff E and it comes with a slew of remixes from the likes of Mom & Dad, Wongo, Yolanda Be Cool, Superpose, Blaze Tripp and last but not least from our friends Nadastrom. Mr Nada and Mr Nordstrom delivers a bubbly and wonky bassfilled take on the track with some added keys for good measure which will most likely set the dancefloor ablaze.

Edu K – Headbanger EP

Edu K just released his new EP, “Headbanger”, on Aussie label Sweat It Out! and it’s available on Beatport!

This is the B side and my favourite from the EP. Have some selfrespect and buy the EP in hi-q before you put it in your Serato :)

Act Yo Age

Sydney duo Act Yo Age is the latest signing to the Sweat It Out label (started by Australian top dj Ajax) and they came prepared to bring you the bounce with the release of their “Hott This EP” (comes with remixes from Edu K, Dre Skull etc. It drops on October 18th, check Beatport to pick it up). Their tracks are complete bangers filled with elements from baile, basement, b-more, rave, acid and their only mission is to make you party and sweat buckets. We got the In Flagranti remix of their anthem “La Fumo Loco” for you to blast.

Edu K remixes

Brazilian wildman Edu K hit us up with some of his most recent stuff. First out we have his synth laced remix of the track “Chuva Nas Calcinha” by Brazilian baile funk/electro/rock outfit Comunidade Nin-Jitsu and then we also received his remix of “Salami” from Melbourne dj crew La Mode where a wobbly bass fits in nicely. Both of them are bound to make good on the floor.

Hello from Brazil

We got an e-mail from Madame Mim in Brazil the other day, she sent over her new song with Edu K. I’m feeling this electronic headbanger alot. Madame Mim released her second album last year but if you, like me, missed that and want more just head over to her webpage or her MySpace.

Edu K-ALLIN

New stuff from Brazil! Edu K is at it again with these new remixes and they are fire. First he transform the cute popsensation Emily Karpeltrack “Tipa” into a jackin electro bomb. Then he deranges the already disturbing track “Druggggssszzz” by Cowgum (which is a collabo between Joost van Bellen and Richard Cameron. They made the track “Filthy and Raw” a couple of years ago and they’re hopefully getting an album out later this year) into a apocalyptic dancefloor mayhem with that perfect touch of baile and electro to make us go crazy. This is music not for the weak at heart.

Kidz don’t do drugs, it’s no good for ya!
