Love Thing EP High Res art

Our boy Eli Escobar is following-up his universally adored “Glass House” single from last year with the “Love Thing” EP.

“The “Love Thing” EP is a monster, albeit a beautiful one, with several disco-house gems that have Eli’s imaginative command of understated production that has one foot in the past and one in the future. Folks, it doesn’t get classier than this. “Love Thing Part 3: Only You” features the inimitable Amanda Blank, who refreshingly trades in her tough-girl bravado and unleashes her inner songstress. This is a more mature, revealing and sensitive Amanda, quite different from the dirty (and equally loved) Blank most of us know through her collaborations with Spank Rock and her own album from last year (“I Love You”) which was produced by Diplo, Switch, XXXchange, as well as Eli Escobar. Through their collaboration on her album, Eli and Amanda developed a close friendship. Ironically, even though only two of the the six songs they made together (“Gimme What You Got” and “Big Heavy”) ended up on her album, they continue to collaborate, bringing each other into new musical territory. “Love Thing” is the first of what hopefully will be several future releases by the pair.”

The Glass – Superhero (Komka remix)

This was in the mail this weekend but unfortunately there was little to no time for blog posts.

Plant Music bosses in The Glass comes through with a superbly done minimal/tech house remix from up and coming Brazilian producer Komka of their latest single track “Superhero”. The Glass are just finishing their album and are doing US dates in March and April dates along with NYC friends Stretch Armstrong and Eli Escobar to help support the Plant Music Scion compilation which will be released late March. All the boys will also head over to Europe in April.

Ali Love – Diminishing Returns (Eli Escobar remix)

British vocalist Ali Love is about to release his new italo disco inspired single “Diminishing Returns” as digital download/12″ vinyl on Back Yard on November 16th. The single will be followed by a full-length album coming soon. NYC disco demon Eli Escobar touches up the track with some of his magic, making it into an instant 80′s disco sounding hit.

The Finnish brethren Top Billin (together with Sharkslayer) bringing the goods on this mix for Finnish clothing label CTRL.

“Here’s the CTRL x TOP BILLIN mix, previously only available on a promotional (free) CD… Here’s why it’s called ‘Moscow Madness’: We went earlier this year to Moscow to play there with Eli Escobar during the big Moscow fashion fair called ‘Faces & Laces’ (think of Bread & Butter but inna Moskovits’ way, we see you Oleg), played 3 gigs, ended up having too much fun, missing planes back home, meeting up with some real life gangster types and just generally being a bunch of bourgeoisie Finns with Timothy from Ctrl Clothing. Needed to make a mix for it. Enjoy”

One of our favorite dj’s/producers, New York disco producer Eli Escobar, just released his first original release “Glass House” and it’s been creating quite a stir over the past month with support from a variety of dj’s such as Sinden, Nick Catchdubs, Malente and many many more. Eli Escobar is of course already well known for his many amazing remixes which Plant Music will be compiling into a remix album for release later this year. This tasty remix comes courtesy of XXXChange who should be no stranger for the frequent Discobelle reader.

Wanna Be Dancin?

The Glass are putting the finishing touches to their album and also have a new single coming in late October called “Superhero” with remixes by Luke Solomon, Ursula 1000 and many more. They remixed new super hot LA band Casxio’s forthcoming single “Seventeen” (coming out on hyped New York label The Hours) and also just did a remix for ESL’s Ursula 1000.

But as if that is not enough they are also doing a North American tour starting this Thursday in New York. The Glass will then come over to Europe in October (including dates in Berlin, Zurich, Munich and Oslo).
