It feels like it’s been a hot second since we’ve heard of a real release from Daniel Avery, but boy does “Sensation” more than make up for the lost time. It’s dark themes show a hint of lineage from his Drone Logic days, but his sound has clearly developed in the two years since his debut album release. It’s minimal bleeps and bloops combine for a dynamic and complex sound that brings forth a range of emotions, and more importantly, has us wishing there was a dancefloor close by.

The track will be released through Phantasy Sound on November 27th. Pre-orders for the Sensation / Clear vinyl can be found here.

Released back in January off Phantasy, Ghost Culture’s critically acclaimed debut album is the gift that keeps on giving.

The haunting third single “Lucky,” which was co-produced by Phantasy label head Erol Alkan, is a perfect example of Ghost Culture’s mix of experimental sounds and compelling songwriting. Audion (aka Matthew Dear) brings new life to the original, blurring the lines between genres and creating a track that shifts over techno, psychedelic and electronica. The end result is a track that not only compliments the original but elevates it at the same time.

The rework is available now on vinyl and digital via Phantasy’s webstore.
