“In prep for their performance this Saturday at Fabric here’s a mix that NYC’s House of House that they’ve especially for the night. House Of House is the New York City-based dance music duo of Saheer Umar (Afrika Islam’s nephew) and Olivier “Liv” Spencer (also of Still Going on DFA Records).
Influenced by the classic sounds of New York and New Jersey Deep House, seminal Techno outfits like Basic Channel and Underground Resistance, and the soulful sounds of Imagination, Womack and Womack and Sade, House Of House injects a soul-searing bit of drama onto the dance floor.”
San Diego producer Harvard Bass provides us with the next release on Sound Pellegrino (Tekis and Orgasmics label which looks to be a major player in 2009), his “Caked/81″ EP will be out on May 18th and comes backed with this remix from one of our favorites at the moment. Finnish duo Renaissance Man gives us yet another one of their stunning remixes with their take on flip side track “81″, continuing with their own jacking style and you just have to love that bouncy Eastern European style accordion. (Thanks to Curb Crawlers)
We’ve been waiting for this (all of the mixes from Swiss tag team Round Table Knights so far have been ace and this does in no way disappoint), perfect timing since it’s finally warming up here in Sweden. Play this on repeat!
The Radioclit “Secousse 2″ remix EP was just released on Mental Groove Records, it’s a mighty package that features the All Stars Vocal version + dub and remixes from juke legend Gant-Man, French wonder Brodinski, Italian/British master Riva Starr, the Swiss heroes Wildlife and Round Table Knights + Mad Decents very own Paul Devro! To celebrate the release, they’re giving away some unreleased mixes of the track. First out is this bleepy yet still with that tropical flavour version by Etan (AKA Shuttle, Ninja Tune)
You should also try to get your mitts on the deluxe fur & limited numbered vinyl edition (of 500) which can be found exclusively here.
“When I Grow Up” is the upcoming single from Fever Ray and it’s transformed by Dan Lissvik (of Studio) from a dark and eerie track into a slice of light balearicpop complete with panflutes and children’s voices in the background.
The new hope in Swedish hip hop, Lorentz & M.Sakarias, have finally finished their debut album “Vi Mot Världen” and it drops today (those of you in Scandinavia can also cop it on iTunes). We at Discobelle got the exclusive stream (well, along with MySpace) of the whole album. On the album they’ve worked with producers such as UMYO, Jeansbjörn and the British electropopsters in Futurecop! + vocalists such as Baltimore rapper Rye Rye, Swedish singstress Marit Bergman, Newkid etc. The album is characterized by a fun and playful attitude where the duo shows their diverse influences and it’ll surely be absolutely massive this spring/summer.
Our good friend Stephan AKA Mr Fairtilizer & The Genevan Heathen has his birthday today. To celebrate the extravagant occasion, Tim from NYC electro outfit 33Hz put together this special birthday remix that features some of Stephans buddies such as Teki Latex and Devin the Dude.
Our old French buddies in electro duo Donovan (previously known as Killdahype) have been with us right from the get go and like Discobelle they’ve evolved, now they’re going from strength to strength with the release of their debut EP “Breakin’” + official remixes for that French electropop maestro Sebastien Tellier.
