Stockholm production team Van Rivers & The Subliminal Kid are long time favorites of us here at Discobelle. Hot off the heels of touring with Fever Ray and also a recent dj gig at the notorious Berghain club in Berlin, they give us a pumping techy mix done for the friendly and amazing Italians over at Pig Mag.
Also, this is for the UK heads. The Guardian has teamed up with Rabid Records and Cooperative Music to give readers a live version of the debut album by Fever Ray. Following an exclusive interview in tomorrow’s Film and Music section there will be a unique URL printed in Saturday’s edition of The Guardian that will allow readers to download the album.
Been away for two days on a retreat with my regular job which means now i’m playing catch up with the Internet and by the looks of it i’m on the losing end. This Crookers remix of the Fever Ray track “Seven” surfaced over at fellow Grinder Electric Zoo, the synthline/telephone sounds in this is almost as contagious as H1N1.
Second remix of the latest single “When I Grow Up” from Fever Ray, this one by Swedish experimental electronic producer Håkan Lidbo is nothing at all like the previous tantalizing remix done by Studios very own Dan Lissvik. On this remix, Håkan twists, chops and cut ups the track and in the process pretty much turns into a full blown dance track.
“When I Grow Up” is the upcoming single from Fever Ray and it’s transformed by Dan Lissvik (of Studio) from a dark and eerie track into a slice of light balearicpop complete with panflutes and children’s voices in the background.
