There are few finer UK bass contenders than that of Champion. What’s more, the London native has finally made with the “Snapshot” LP, a 12-track instalment of epic two-step and UK bass fundamentals. With the likes of Flava D, Jammz, Four Tet and Dream MC onboard, the LP gives one of the most comprehensive insights into bubbling UK talent and where the stalwart UK producer is making impressive power moves through connecting like minded firestarters.

Kieran Hebden better known as Four Tet with a simple and bubbly new track, that mandolin at around the 1:45 min mark along with the swirling synths makes us fall in love.

Four Tet started a massive Spotify playlist last year that now is comprised of 339 songs. Due to Donald Trump’s recent travel ban for citizens of 7 countries, the 10 latest tracks on the playlist are from countries whose artists are now banned from the US – musicians include Rahim AlHaj (Iraq), Martik (Iran), Omar Souleyman (Syria), Kourosh Yaghmaei (Iran), Naji Barakat (Yemen), Haussein Shiekh and Radio Mogadisco Swahili Singers (Somalia), Abdullah Kershi and Ahmed Sherif (Somalia), and the Dinka people of Abyei (Sudan). The London based producer has announced that he will continue to add tracks by musicians now banned from the US.

And as an added bonus, Nils Schéle – a prolific Stockholm based dj – did this exclusive mix of grooved out awesomeness that serves as a prelude to the Into The Valley extravaganza this summer. Nils chose some of the tracks he likes to play at the moment and recorded the mix live in his living room. He suggests you listen to the mix to get in the right mood for the party.

Four Tet unleashes a different version of his collaboration with Jamie XX and Romy (of The XX), this is a club version of the “In Colour” album track “Seesaw”. “This is another version I did last year to DJ with… different drums and mix and arrangement”, it’s a warm and uplifting anthem that’s perfect for now when spring is just around the corner.

Swedish festival Into The Valley has already been named one of the top festivals in the world and it hasn’t even taken place yet, it’s a two day celebration of electronic music where Dalhalla – a former limestone quarry and one of the most unique venues in Sweden – is rebuilt to an open air club. The festival takes place from July 31st to August 2nd in Dalhalla, outside of Rättvik which is located about 280 kilometres from Stockholm and tickets are available here. Artists performing includes Four Tet, Mount Kimbie, Nicolas Jaar, Ricardo Villalobos, John Talabot, Richie Hawtin, Carl Craig, Âme,
Axel Boman, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Nina Kraviz, Ida Engberg, Benoit & Sergio, Genius Of Time, Dixon, Kim Ann Foxman, Baba Stiltz, Kornel Kovacs etc.

Into The Valley takes the pulse of the city to the heart of the forest. By being an extension of previous projects the club feeling is intact, though the context is different. An urban club environment is recreated, and maximized while sound, machinery and lineup aligns with Dalhalla’s majestic backdrop of trees, water and sky. The limestone quarry transforms into a stew of deep electronics and artificially created light warped far from its original destination. Into The Valley is a dream come true for everyone involved, and expectations are high.

We here at Discobelle have teamed up with the organizers Segren Hedlund and will present exclusive mixes from some of the performing artists in the weeks leading up to the festival, first out we have an amazing mix from Stockholm dj/producer Jessie Granqvist who gives us 58 minutes of dark and brooding techno, perfect to listen to in the summer heat.
