The Boston duo known as Soul Clap are the reigning masters of deep and funky house, they’re responsible for this E-Funk mix which is even if it’s a bit old the latest mix in the Fact Magazine Mix series and this is tryuly outstanding. There will be alot of babies made to this mix.

“This mix, in fact, is so good that we don’t mind the fact that it’s old. Soul Clap’s E-FUNK: The Mixtape was created in 2010, and pressed in a limited edition of 200 copies – 100 given out for free at a party thrown by the Boston duo, and 100 through our friends at Phonica Records. Now, with Soul Clap’s debut album on the horizon, we’re making this classic available for free online.

Those of you who remember King Midas Sound’s FACT mix – a beautifully crafted session of re-manipulated lovers’ rock that you’d have gladly paid money for, given how much effort and attention had clearly gone into it – will find much to love about this session. Sporting close to 40 tracks from Dam-Funk, Kokane, Miles Davis and many more, plus interludes, shout outs and, naturally, plenty of edits and originals from Soul Clap themselves, E-FUNK: The Mixtape is pretty close to nasty, stanky, funk perfection. Trust us on this one, it’s absolutely brilliant.”

PS. We see you there in the tracklist Genevan Heathen…

Our brother from another mother over in Montreal – Hatchmatik – has been hard at work over the last few months with his snazzy clothing boutique Old Gold and also constructing a full online shop. Now that everything’s up and running, he celebrates by giving us a mix. Others to follow suit in their mix series will include Jubilee, Harvard Bass, Teki Latex, Members Only, Genevan Heathen and more.

Our good friend Stephan AKA Mr Fairtilizer & The Genevan Heathen has his birthday today. To celebrate the extravagant occasion, Tim from NYC electro outfit 33Hz put together this special birthday remix that features some of Stephans buddies such as Teki Latex and Devin the Dude.

Happy birthday, Stephan!

Swiss premier Eurocrunk boss Genevan Heathen just dropped a new track. “Eazy E” premiered on East Village Radio a few weeks ago and it’s produced by Matt Foley (who, if you read the Genevan Heathen blog, is responsible for a slew of remixes). “Eazy E” is taken off the upcoming mixtape “The Sensitive Touch” which features guest appearances and production by Matt Foley, Teki Latex, Cuizinier, Spank Rock, Tacteel, 33 Hz, Kid Rolex, DJ Raze, L.E.D., Monty $$ and more.

Kid Rolex

Stephan AKA The Genevan Heathen (check his blog, it’s top class) sent these two tracks by Kid Rolex our way. Kid Rolex did some production on Cuiziniers mixtapes but now he apparently is getting sued by Rolex and needs to change his name. He’s decided to go out with a bang and unleash his productions on the internet including a download only EP that will drop on June 17th on his MySpace.
