“Beat Her” is a slow burning electrodisco jam from French duo Gentlemen Drivers (who have previously been known for harder tracks). They once again team up with fellow French chantuesse SoKo, she made a splash last year “I’ll Kill Her”, and this is a perfect match with SoKo’s talksinging interpolating with the synthlaced track.

We Have Band – Oh! (video + remix)

London trio We Have Band is the latest signing to French label Kitsuné, they’ve already been featured on the Kitsuné Maison 6 compilation CD. Their sound has been described as “spastic bass heavy discorock” and if Devo was formed on today’s music climate then they would probably sound something like this. This remix from Paris outfit Gentlemen Drivers of their debut single “Oh!” (released on November 24th on 50 Bones Records) decreases the level of spasticness but instead gives it more of a quirky and bleepy disco sound with repetetive talky vocals.

Easter is upon us but we here at Discobelle aren’t really that interested in eating eggs, lamb or candy. Instead, we’ll most likely go out partying. Tonight is the sixth edition of the club night Pastell here in Malmö and they managed to lure Parisian electro producers/dj’s Gentlemen Drivers to chilly Sweden. Together with swedish electropop hope Gentle Touch, they’ll make us dance all night.

Gentlemen Drivers are Michael and Benoit, they’ve done smashing remixes for The Teenagers, Klaxons etc. This track “2042 LA Dreams” (yeah, we know that it’s been around but unfortunately we couldn’t get the new Gentlemen Drivers track since it’s not finished yet) does indeed sound like the electrodance soundtrack to a future Los Angeles, sunstroked yet a bit dark and dystopic.
