Superb ambient sounding techno from Skymning (Stockholm based producer Erik Lagerholm) which has already received praise from the likes of Gidge and Johanna Knutsson, three track EP “Dvala” is his first release on Swedish label Waves/Longitudinalwaves.

“Step into hibernation, and give the space that surround you a warm welcome. Close your eyes and think about those places where you felt something, a feeling that fulfilled you, a feeling that lasted. As fantasies and memories become increasingly lucid, you feel your mind opening up. You are restarting. Recharging. Starting to power back up. At this point you’ve almost reached a state of dormancy, at this point you are ready to listen to Dvala.”

We’ve reached the third part of our mix collaboration with Swedish electronic music festival Into The Valley, this edition comes from Swedish duo Gidge who brings forth a beautiful mix of superb jams filled with subtle and hypnotic groove.

“We wanted to make a mix that was dynamic, both in terms of which songs we used but also within the songs themselves. It’s got some new favorites as well as some old lovers in there. Music we like, simply put. Hope someone else does too.”

Gidge – Growth

Sep 23 2014

We’ve been sleeping on this a bit but since the beautiful new album “Autumn Bells” from Swedish duo Gidge was released yesterday we thought it was due time for a post.

The track “Growth” is a gorgeous example of their organic electronica sound, expanding slowly into masterful track of brooding vocal samples and floating, intricate melodies, listen closely because this is the sound of autumn in Sweden.

Swedish/Barbadian alt/pop/R&B artist Naomi Pilgrim released her debut track “No Gun” last fall to over 270K Soundcloud plays . Her self-titled EP released in early February was met with equal acclaim and today we’re proud to premiere the atmospheric Gidge remix of her third single “Rainmakers.” Check it out below along with the original. The official “Rainmakers” remix package is out today on iTunes.

The biggest Swedish track for me this summer and fall has been “Det Var Jag” with SkÃ¥ne electro hero Familjen and the remixes has been equally amazing, really showing the diversity of the Swedish club scene. We have already featured two versions here on Discobelle, Albin Myers and Gidge. On the vinyl release and on Spotify you also get a Savage Skulls and Marcus Price version (check it out, it’s a dancefloor killer) and this one from Krazy Fiesta. Johan tells us that its his favourite remix up to date. It’s beautiful, perfect for the day after. We are very happy to have the go ahead to share it with the world!

Don’t sleep!

Here is something nice from Adrian Recordings:

“New week and another remix seeps out of the Adrian Recordings office. Summer is finally here and the heat is all over us. Nights are warm and full of drinks and music.

During the summer of 2010 we will let you sneak listen to new remixes of singles that are coming this fall. Now the time has come for Familjen. And this is also an announcement. Next single from Familjens grandios album “Mänskligheten” will be the track “Det var jag”. This is a remix from way up north. Let us present the “Gidge” remix.”
