A weekend treat for all you avid Discobelle readers courtesy of the good people over at The Vinyl Factory. One lucky person will get this super limited edition of the recently released album “One Life Stand” from everyones favorite British electropopsters in Hot Chip. Send in your name, e-mail and postal address here and we’ll draw a winner. You have until 23:59 CET on sunday (February 20th).

“Working closely with Hot Chip and their long-term designer Wallzo, The Vinyl Factory present a special limited art edition of the band’s stunning new album, which was released on 1st February 2010.

Limited to just 1,000 hand-numbered copies worldwide, the edition includes two super-heavyweight vinyl records containing the 10 tracks comprising ‘One Life Stand’, crafted on The Vinyl Factory-owned, legendary EMI 1400 vinyl press located in Hayes, Middlesex. Also featuring an exclusive Hot Chip art print of the ‘One Life Stand’ cover artwork, it is presented in a heavyweight gatefold sleeve with bespoke artwork printed on both sides, and also houses a very special and exclusive surprise!

The Vinyl Factory will also release new and exclusive art and vinyl collaborations with Massive Attack, Grace Jones and acclaimed composer Michael Nyman in 2010. The Vinyl Factory also run an independent music & arts magazine and website (FACT) and record shop (Phonica, Poland Street, Soho, London). The Vinyl Factory Berlin is due to launch in Spring 2010.”

Downtown Music giveaway part 4

Downtown Music giveaway part 3

The third t-shirt give away from Downtown Music is here! This time around it’s Lissy Trullie that have some goods up for grabs. Two lucky winners will each get an EP cover t-shirts (we got 1 M – red and 1 L – white so tell us what size you want).

Downtown Music give away part 2

The second t-shirt giveaway from Downtown Music got a little postponed due to some problem with the site, but here it is. The second giveaway is with Mos Def, two winners will each get a grey Mos Def t-shirt (XL) with free digi album download card attached to shirt. The t-shirts are official from The Music Tee.

Major Lazer giveaway

Major Lazer (the Jamaican commando who lost his arms in the secret zombie war of 1984 and had them replaced by lazers) has a new album coming out on the 16th of June (check his twitter page). He sent us some prize packs to promote it. We got two Major Lazer packs which contain: a t-shirt, CD and vinyl each to give away.

Just send us an email and we will draw two to win the prizepack (US only). Put “I helped Major Lazer kill a zombie” in the subject.

Major Lazer has enlisted Diplo and Switch for a full North American tour. Tourdates after the jump:

UNKLE Giveaway

Time to give away some stuff again. We are giving away a vinyl copy of UNKLE’s “Remix Stories (Volume One)” which is out on Sept 8th (exclusively via Beatport for the first 4 weeks). As well as two limited edition CDs of “End Titles…Stories for Film” which had it’s physical release this week.

Cut Copy giveaway

The new Cut Copy album “In Ghost Colours” could be one of the top albums of the year, this week sees the US release and we here at Discobelle (in cooperation with the good people at Modular) will let you hear the album for yourselves with a Cut Copy giveaway. We’ve got the CD, tote bags, 3D glasses and stickers. All you have to do to get your hands on a Cut Copy package is to answer this question, what was front man Daniel Whitfords occupation before Cut Copy? Send your answers here and good luck!
