On Friday September 7th we receive another edition of the Poolside series from Toolroom Records. “Poolside Ibiza 2018” is basically your essential collection of summer tracks to soundtrack those long hazy days spent by the pool, two very talented DJs were recruited to mix this year’s edition. They both hail from Portugal – Moullinex and Xinobi (the pair have releases on labels such as Ministry Of Sound, Nervous, Gomma, Anjunadeep) and they might just be two of the biggest artists in the indie dance/nu-disco world

The 40 tracks from a whole host of A-List DJs and producers including Moullinex, Xinobi, Eli & Fur, Moon Boots, Tensnake, Booka Shade, Hot Toddy, Art Of Tones, Cavego, Perel, Mambo Brothers, NTEIBINT, Justin Jay, Franky Rizardo, Bruxas, David Hohme, Moscoman, Simple Symmetry, Ali Kuru and many more alongside a brand new exclusive from Boys Get Hurt with Moullinex & Xinobi’s two full length DJ mixes completing the package.

We at Discobelle can offer up the premiere of the track “Lost & Found” from Tokyo based producer Boys Get Hurt that features Tiago on vocals, it’s a superbly warm and sparking sounding House tune! Sit back, relax and unwind with Toolroom’s Poolside album.

My favorite Ukraine producer, Volta Cab, just dropped a new EP on Gomma sub-label, Toy Tonics. 3 mega, mid-tempo house cuts permeate this EP and Toy Tonics home-player’s, Rhode & Brown, show up to put there stamp on the lead cut. Heavy notes of funk and R&B lace the low slung basslines and vintage percussion on this stellar outing for all parties involved.

Gomma boss man Munk has teamed up with Rebolledo to offer a slick lil EP called “Surf Smurf.” Classic, west coast vibes is the end result… and by “classic, west coast vibes,” I mean Beach Boys and Dick Dale classic. Thick house rhythms provided a modern, dance-floor base for some chugging, surf guitar and bass. Chopped samples, funky percussion and a honking sax take center stage on the Munk mix of the title cut while the Rebolledo version is far more dubbed out and spacey.

B-side, “Got It Baby” is a hip-shakin’, soul-laden acid house jam… definite dance-floor weaponry!
