Hitting the ground running in 2012, this year has already seen Joy Orbison’s Boddika-collaborating “Swims” get a release on Swamp 81, only to (predictably) sell out due to the frothing hype that’s been building over the last 12+ months. It was also recently announced that Peter O’Grady is starting up a new sub-imprint on Honest Jon’s called Hinge Finger – and although there’s not much to the label’s name other than this trackless hour of house that Joy O pumped out, it’s still a promising start.

Apparently not happy with being only fourteen billion times more productive than the rest of us, Joy O will be releasing a new EP with Instra:mental’s Boddika at the end of February comprised of two already heavily rinsed tracks by the two – the dark, “something’s rattling in the back of my volvo” minimal thump of “Mercy” and the also very thumpy vocally thrush landscape of “Froth”. Stream them both below, and try to ignore all the soundcloud comments.
