Willy Joy – Superhuman

Chicago producer/dj Willy Joy returns to Trouble & Bass with todays release of his “Whispering Woods” single. He’s part of Trouble & Bass Bookings which means that he’s been touring all over North America during the last year, recently dropped an EP on Diplo’s Mad Decent imprint + he’s made tons of remixes for the likes of Hostage, Kastle, Treasure Fingers etc!

“Superhuman” is the second track on the EP and it sees Willy provide us with a jacking groove and a bonerattling bass all atop tropical drums to create what feels like an unstoppable dancefloor monster.

Valhalla-cover

Valhalla

Scottish producer Hostage just dropped one thunderous EP with “Valhalla” (released by Nightshifters that goes from strength to strength with their releases). Hostage keeps the single going with bass and adds some sprinkles of rave to keep the dancefloor in check, remix duties comes from Chicago house legend Angel Alanis, Chicago b-more hero Rampage then Chrissy Murderbot adds some juke flavour and Mommas Boy finishes the package off with some Dutch house/Euro rave goodness.

Pirates & Rudeboys

Edinburgh producer and Nightshifters affiliate Hostage goes from strength to strength with an absolutely massive output of tracks, remixes and edits. These latest two offerings, “Pirates” and “Rudeboys”, were unleashed on the unsuspecting net via the awesome people over at Discodust (where you’ll also find his aUtOdiDakT remix) yesterday. “Pirates” is full on bassline madness whereas “Rudeboys” is more in the lines of Jamaican dubstep and it’s our favorite of the two.

Nightshifters February mix

Jason Forrest (AKA DJ Donna Summer) runs Nightshifters together with the best lady in NYC – Jubilee – and by the looks of this mix they’ll be doing it big in 2009. The mix previews some of the exciting tracks that they’ll release in the near future. Chokeful of goodies, watch out for that Jokers Of The Scene remix at the end…It’s massive!

BONUS: Two essential tracks for your listening pleasure.

Dillinja – Twist Em Out (Proper Villains Remix) (direct link)

“KILLER bass heavy remix for you by Proper Villians. Made for Palms Out Sounds but we wanted to spread the wealth as it’s just too freakin great to be missed!”

Hostage – Bring The Music (direct link)

“Funny and completely latin sounding bass-rave-salsa number from Scotland. Yeah, we were surprised when he heard it too! HAHA!”

PS. Check out the brand new Hostage remix of La Roux over at Discodust.

Hostage – The New Gun

Nightshifters coming through with a brand new track from a Discobelle favorite, Scottish producer Hostage. His track “The New Gun” shows off his ravey b-more style, we’re loving the evil vocals, shuffling drums and the stabbing synths. Check out his recent “Shake It EP” for more of that good stuff.

Hostage vs. AC Slater

Brooklyn producer, all around nice guy and killer dj AC Slater gives us his take on the track “Shake It” from Edinburgh producer Hostage. It’s driven by a wobbly bass, piano stabs and some scary ass vocals which makes this into a serious peak time banger. The “Shake It” EP was just released on Nightshifters and you should grab it ASAP.

The “Shake It” EP can now be found on Beatport, you should definetely cop it so that you’ll be able to play all four of the banging original tracks + the remixes from AC Slater, Jackmaster in high quality at your next party.
