Dada Life edits, 2nd edition

After great response on their M.I.A edit, the Dada Life boys hooked us up with two more sweet tools for the dancefloor. This time, they work their magic on the overlooked Boy 8 Bit remix of the Pomomofo track “Back At The Club” and also on the mighty Soulwax remix of the Hot Chip track “Ready For The Floor”.

Delicious Vinyl party

We’ve already featured two of the tracks on the “Rmxxology” album from LA hip hop label Delicious Vinyl and now it’s gearing up to release time.

This is an announcement for our UK readers. Delicious Vinyl are teaming up with East London’s hottest new night Over The Top to celebrate the UK release of the compilation which features classic tracks by Young MC, The Pharcyde, Masta Ace, The Brand New Heavies and Fatlip re-imagined by artists including Peaches, Hot Chip and Diplo. Masta Ace will be performing live and DJs including YoYo’s Leo Greenslade and Kiss 100′s MK will be spinning, this is gonna be a sweet party.

Here’s the Diplo remix of the Young MC track “Bust A Move”.

Wiley – Wearing My Rolex (cover + remix)

Wiley made one of our favorite club tracks so far this year with the huge “Wearing My Rolex”. Here is Hot Chip with a charming cover of the track done up in their trademark electropop style. (Thanks to the wonderful Ghazal)

BONUS: French electro act The Shoes wanted in on the fun so here’s their remix.

Hot Chip vs. Toddla T

Boom! This just surfaced in the good old Discobelle mailbox. Electropopsters Hot Chip meets upcoming house/dancehall/bassline producer Toddla T who drops some serious heat with this frantic remix. Looks like Toddla T will be doing it big in 2008.

BONUS: A pretty much completely different kind of remix from Supermayer.

Drive Your Car

Rob Smoughton or Grovesnor used to drum for Hot Chip and the opening track on the Hot Chip “DJ Kicks” album was his track “Nitemoves”, he’s also part of the Greco Roman crew. His upcoming single “Drive Your Car” will be released in April and features remixes from among others Hot Chip and our friend Oliver $. “Drive Your Car” is a bit housier than his previous efforts but still on some sweet feelgood electro/soul tip, perfect for a sunday pick me up. We got a hold of the remix from club music extraordinaire Bird Peterson, with it’s wobbly bassline driven beat and handclaps it’s just as smashing as his past remixes.
