London based future club/techno duo Piri Piri released their stellar seven track EP “Patterns” yesterday which features three tense original tracks and driven remixes from grimed up producer Visonist, new talent Neana, French mad professor Jean Nipon along with an amazing technoish sounding remix courtesy of Matthias Zimmermann.
Now he’s resurfacing with a new release on the increasingly prolific Silverback Recordings label – “The Girl Complex” EP.
Complete with one heckuva remix from Night Slugs alumni Jam City, the package also comes with a minimalist little re-edit from the boys in Voltron – a blissed out piece of melodic electronica with drums popping up and fading away in the background that sounds like a 3ball guarachero rhythm that’s been given a shot of morphine. You can grab the Voltron remix for free below:
French producer/dj Jean Nipon dives into techhouse territory with the release of his new EP “International Meek” (drops tomorrow on Institubes) and we’ve got a freebie from the EP for you. “Cairo” is a sinister, squealchy synth driven monster of a track that’s bound to be massive on dancefloors this winter.
Then Mr Bok Bok provided us with his own mix, filled with: “lots of bassline/dubstep/grime/heavy bass-etc heat – new dubs from Joker, Screama, Matt Shadetek, Drop The Lime, Illmana, Starkey, Burgaboy, A Dot R, L-Vis 1990, Merkury, Moves!!!, Cardopusher, Subzero and Dexplicit plus loads of other stuff and a (slightly dodgy) ghetto house segment at the end cos I felt like it”
A mix from Jean Nipon that’s straigt up full of bangers such as: “exclusives such as his new single ‘4WD’, a remix by Bobmo of Surkin’s ‘Kid Gloves’, a snippet of Teki’s verse from Orgasmic’s take on ‘White Knight Two’, a taste of Laidback Luke’s remix, Feadz’ track from the upcoming Eurogirls go to Baltimore part II comp, David Rubato’s remix of ‘Lights Out’ by Santogold and some other goodies.”
We also received a mix from our friends over at Man Recordings. KU BO is their latest signing and it’s a new Sci-Fi Afro-Brasil project by Vienna, Austria based bass king STEREOTYP. The mixtape features classic cuts by KU BO plus unreleased and upcoming tracks. Expect KU BO Vinyl #3 to drop on Man Recordings in autumn, followed by a full album in February 09.
