Toronto producer Meati will be busy in the upcoming months, he has an EP coming out soon on Get Flavor that will feature remixes from Ardalan, Bosstone, John Roman, and Krueger. Also in the works there’s a collaboration with Deebs and a forthcoming remix on Pelican Fly. But before this mass of tracks gets released, we here at Discobelle can present you with “Carmen” which is a dark and brooding track with a subbass that’ll rattle your ribcage and as an added bonus we get a lingering, intimidating Weezy sample to tie the whole thing into one formidable affair.

Producing For Presents II

elctroTO released their new charity EP today, go buy it. it’s for a good cause and has some great tracks on it:

“Today, Friday December 3rd, marks a very important day here at electroTO. We are unveiling our second annual Producing For Presents charity EP, a yearly holiday initiative which enlists our most beloved local DJs to produce tracks and sell them in an attempt to raise money for a charitable cause. Indeed, like last year, all proceeds will be donated to the Heart House Hospice, a local charity which will ultimately use the donations to purchase Christmas presents for children in less fortunate circumstances. Once again, Wrongbar has been kind enough to open its doors to us and host an EP release party on December 18th, featuring all of our closest DJ comrades.

As you will see, the EP is a giant leap from last year’s edition, with nine original compositions, all at the pinnacle of their respective genres. The entire collection can be purchased for $10 via PayPal on our Bandcamp page, which we’ve linked below. These producers have worked tirelessly to put forth these tracks out of the goodness of their heart, and your purchasing them will only solidify these efforts. Certainly, the holiday season is a time to rejoice with friends and family, but we must also be conscious of those who literally cannot afford that luxury. Thanks for your support. Turned On Vol. 1 (compiled by Neoteric) hit Beatport today with a bang! 17 tracks from some of the best new artists out there right now collected on one wicked compilation. With talent like Crookers, Brodinski, Radioclit, Nadastrom, Mikix The Cat, Schlachthofbronx, Savage Skulls and many many more we just can’t go wrong. Neoteric put together one of the best compilation we have seen in a long time. We are really proud of doing this with him.

We also want to give something back to all you loyal readers when we release a monster like this. So we got two remixes of one of the tracks on the compilation. It’s Samo Sound Boy and upcoming Discobelle Records artist LOL Boys who have put their touch to the mega bang0r “Cannibalistic” by Expendable Youth.

After the great success of the Mystery Mix competition on Discobelle that we did together with DJ Neoteric (DJ/Producer and A&R for Dubsided) the idea for making it into a compilation came up, since most of the tracks were unreleased. It later grew into something bigger where Neoteric dug in his vaults, and put his ears to the street to gather this collection of great club tracks from friends and artists he’s been working with over the years. There’s something for everyone on this compilation, from speaker mashers, to house groovers, to pounding techno music, this compilation has it all! With early support for Crookers, Annie Mac, Brodinski, Jaymo & Andy George, MSTRKRFT, LA Riots, Malente and many others! Keep an eye out for its release, May 18th!
