This new release from Justin Faust and Discotexas has had me groovin’ all weekend. If you missed my coverage of the original mix, peep it here.

This time, I wax poetic on the tasty remix from NTEIBINT, who pitches the tempo down to slinkier territories with his low slung version. Italo stylings and a half-time, chordal breakdown soundtrack visions of a dancing Spacer Woman and her Capricorn Man, locked in a cosmic embrace of Cybernetic Love.

If you like synthy shit, DIG THIS!

Hot of the presses, Munich-based, Discotexas alum, Justin Faust has dropped the first single from his forthcoming LP, ‘Spellbound.’ Here, we have the titular cut, a swanky jammer that features bubbly bongo riffs and skittering, layered arpeggios. A gorgeous, chordal breakdown adds to the tune’s cosmically epic leanings, like a land-speeder cruise thru the valleys of some distant, alien planet.

The forthcoming album drops September 19th on Discotexas.

Texas based duo, Night Drive, the beautiful, fiery phoenix that has risen from the ashes of Glasnost (Brandon Duhon) and MoTel Aviv (Rodney Connell), released their second EP over the past month in the form of ‘Sea Of Light.’ Featuring a cast of remixers such as Treasure Fingers, Justin Faust, Kulkid and elektromekanik, plus being featured on HYPETRAK and Gotta Dance Dirty, this releasing is certainly ‘making waves!’

The original mix finds the lads in fine form with their trademark sound, blending cascading synth melodies and soaring vocals with a solid foundation of bouncing beats and an arpeggiated bass. Treasure Fingers amps up the 80’s, synth funk elements while Justin Faust makes a daytime disco version. Kulkid takes us through a cavernous, broken beat foray into 808 territory while elektromekanik’s remix is a sun-drenched walk on the beach at sunset.

A stunning package of top notch output and it’s all FREE for a Facebook ‘LIKE!’ Sit tight for Night Drive’s debut, artist EP to drop September, 3rd via Robot Dance Records. And be sure to catch Night Drive, live in a town near you! Dates below…

When it comes to the track “Poster Girl” by French Horn Rebellion and Database, I’ll be the first to admit that I might be a little bit biased. I’ve watched the brothers Perlick-Molinari in awe as they worked through a track from start to finish. David and Robert are two truly talented individuals who have a knack for writing hooks and catchy melodies.

Last month we wrote about the Justin Faust remix of “Poster Girl,” which was a nice disco groove track. MNDR’s Peter Wade’s interpretation is straight funky. He adds warbling synths that ricochet off your eardrums. Listen and download below.

Our first glimpse of the new French Horn Rebellion and Database collab, “Poster Girl” comes in the form of a Justin Faust remix.

With this much talent involved it’s no surprise the track is a hit. One of the best things about this song is that the poster girl is voiced by Discobelle’s very own “Fancy” Nancy Lu! And she sounds pretty damn good if I may say so myself.

You might not have heard of Picture Book before, but Justin Faust‘s remix of their track “Sunshine” will get you curious enough to check them out. The duo from Manchester put out a four track EP featuring Grammy nominated vocalist Greta Svabo Bech just this past month. The first track, “Sunshine,” was lucky enough to be given Justin Faust’s funky touch. The remix is dreamy, melodic, disco and all around feel good.

If that remix put you in a groovy place, I highly suggest taking a listen to the rest of Picture Book’s debut EP At Last, which you can stream below.
