Sky Might Fall

Thanks to Nah Right (who is always on top when it comes to hip hop), here’s the full version (hmm, or an early version. Opinions seems to differ) of the Kanye West produced Kid Cudi track that’s featured in an unofficial trailer for “Transformers 2″.

Colin Munroe is the Unsung Hero mixtape

Canadian artist Colin Munroe made a huge splash with his remix of Kanyes “Flashing Lights”. Last week we were fortunate enough to get a preview track off his new mixtape “Colin Munroe is the Unsung Hero” which is now ready to be released in conjunction with OnSmash.

This mixtape offers a glimpse into the world of this young talent whose highly anticipated debut album “Don’t Think Less of Me” drops in early 2009 on Universal Motown. Colin fuses aspects of rock, pop, hip-hop and electronic music, demonstrating his talent as both a musician and a producer. Done in collaboration with Sickamore & The Famous Firm and crafted over a two-month period in Dallas Austin’s Atlanta-based studio, it includes appearances by DC rapper extraordinaire Wale, Mickey Factz, Joell Ortiz, Baltimores own Blaqstarr and Skyzoo.

In support of the mixtape, Colin is playing a few select dates with Atlanta duo Proton and he’s also making a special New York City appearance opening for Wale alongside Kid Cudi and a DJ set by Mark Ronson. Catch him in the following cities:

02/12 Toronto, ON – The Boat (w/ Proton)
03/12 Los Angeles, CA – Viper Room (w/ Proton)
04/12 New York, NY – Studio @ Webster Hall (w/ Proton, Izza Kizza & DJ Blaqstarr)
06/12 Atlanta, GA – Lenny’s (w/ Proton & Spree Wilson)
09/12 New York, NY – Highline Ballroom (w/ Wale, Kid Cudi and Mark Ronson)
12/12 New London, CT – Hanafins Pub w. Flowers & Kain

Kid Cudi mixtape

The much anticipated Kid Cudi mixtape “A Kid named Cudi” surfaced yesterday (production from Emile and Plain Pat, it was made in conjunction with Fools Gold and clothing label 10 Deep). Big things are definetely in the works for Kid Cudi.

Kid Cudi – Spazz + The Biggest Grinder

We love that Crookers remix of the Kid Cudi track “Day N’ Nite” with it’s wobbly bass contrasting the mellow rapping. Here’s two new tracks from the upcoming mixtape “a Kid named Cudi” (this looks it will be the bomb, we posted the video trailer a few days ago). “Cudi Spazzin” is over the brand new NERD single “Spazz” while “The Biggest Grinder” sees him take over Rick Ross & T-Pains “Boss”. (Thanks to OnSmash via Fool’s Gold)

Kid Cudi + JOTS remixes

Well, we’ve been slacking a bit here at Discobelle. The other day we got some info in the mail from Nick Catchdubs (one of the head honchos of Fools Gold) about the latest Fools Gold releases – Kid Cudi and Jokers Of The Scene – from Nick Catchdubs but neglected to throw it up so you’ve probably already seen it elsewhere.

Anyway, we dig Kid Cudis laidback melodic singstyle rap and then of course the Crookers boys can do no wrong with their remix of “Day N Nite”. Also, the canadian club monsters known as Jokers of The Scene brings us one giant ravetastic release destined for the big rooms with “Y’all Know The Name” on which our old aquintance William Russell proves his ready for the major leagues with his remix of b-side “Juggle It”.
