Swedish festival Into The Valley has already been named one of the top festivals in the world and it hasn’t even taken place yet, it’s a two day celebration of electronic music where Dalhalla – a former limestone quarry and one of the most unique venues in Sweden – is rebuilt to an open air club. The festival takes place from July 31st to August 2nd in Dalhalla, outside of Rättvik which is located about 280 kilometres from Stockholm and tickets are available here. Artists performing includes Four Tet, Mount Kimbie, Nicolas Jaar, Ricardo Villalobos, John Talabot, Richie Hawtin, Carl Craig, Âme,
Axel Boman, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Nina Kraviz, Ida Engberg, Benoit & Sergio, Genius Of Time, Dixon, Kim Ann Foxman, Baba Stiltz, Kornel Kovacs etc.

Into The Valley takes the pulse of the city to the heart of the forest. By being an extension of previous projects the club feeling is intact, though the context is different. An urban club environment is recreated, and maximized while sound, machinery and lineup aligns with Dalhalla’s majestic backdrop of trees, water and sky. The limestone quarry transforms into a stew of deep electronics and artificially created light warped far from its original destination. Into The Valley is a dream come true for everyone involved, and expectations are high.

We here at Discobelle have teamed up with the organizers Segren Hedlund and will present exclusive mixes from some of the performing artists in the weeks leading up to the festival, first out we have an amazing mix from Stockholm dj/producer Jessie Granqvist who gives us 58 minutes of dark and brooding techno, perfect to listen to in the summer heat.

Kim Ann Foxman used to be a member of NYC house group Hercules & Love Affair but have now launched a succesful solo career and is regarded as one of the top underground dance music dj’s around.

Her new release “Open The House” will be available March 9th on her own Firehouse Records imprint (in collaboration with The Vinyl Factory) and we here at Discobelle are extremely glad to be able to premiere b-side track “The Lady Is A Vamp”, a sparse and leftfield sounding track that’s filled with hypnotic vibes containing eerie samples of bells and laughter along with soft spoken vocals and a body jacking beat.

River Seine

Relish Recordings delivers their latest signing, International is a new duo from somewhere south of the Alps, Relish welcomes International. The inaugural release – “River Seine” – is an Ibiza meets Manchester piano driven number with 909 snares, simple delays and tightly enveloped chords lend that Detroit nod. Hercules & Love Affair member Kim Ann Foxman provides us with a more discofueled remix where she even adds a bit of her own vocals to give the remix that little extra something.
