The four-month-long hiatus for the Discobelle mix series is over with this exclusive mix from Mt. Si.
Based in Los Angeles, Mt. Si is a collaborative project among three friends – Sarah Chernoff of Superhumanoids, Jesse Kivel from Kisses and Michael David of Classixx. They came together during the recording sessions for Classixx’s album “Hanging Gardens” and discovered that they had creative chemistry as a trio and assumed the name Mt. Si later signing with Cascine to release their 2016 EP “Limits” which is an exquisite piece of shimmering electronic pop.
Their mix for us here at Discobelle is filled with warm, discoish sounding electronic dance-pop gems including their recently released EP track “911” and the mix is the perfect way to gather up some heat whilst we over here in Europe are being pounded with an arctic freeze.
Kisses has been one of my favorite duo acts, and back in high school they had epitomized the sound of LA that I so desperately wanted to be a part of. Anyways, they’ve been crafting some of the most addicting music a pair of ears could hear, and they’ve just released the track “The Nile” that I am absolutely obsessed with already. With nu-disco vibes and Los Angeles soul, “The Nile” is their best work yet.
Get ready to spin those pancakes! Â We’ve got a whole whack of good tunes to have you both reflecting, dancing, and burning off those wretched “Thanksgiving” calories at the same time.
