Is Tropical – Lies (Adventure Of remix)

Swedish outfit Adventure Of remixes Is Tropical’s latest single “Lies” (off the Kitsuné released album “Native To”) and they turn it into a light, breezy, sambainfluenced tropical version that puts a spring in our step and makes the drab weather here in Sweden turn into full blown summer (at least in our minds). Swedish pop at it finest.

Icona Pop dj mix + live set

After the release of Kitsuné/Neon Gold single “Manners” which had music people all over the world swooning for Swedish shimmering, fluorescent electropop duo Icona Pop. The pair have just released the new EP “Nights Like This” and are now ready to take over the world. Icona Pop is a Swedish shimmering, electronic pop duo that via single tracks such as “Manners” on labels Kitsuné and Neon Gold have spread like wildfire on dancefloors all over the world. New York by way of Turkey producer Deniz Kurtel is the reigning queen of deep, dark house and techno, her remix for Icona Pop feeds a slow beat, added vocals and a devilish bassline to the soft, angelic sounding original vocals.

The Magician ft. Jeppe – I Don’t Know What To Do (Plastic Plates Remix)

Expect nothing less than… MAGIC with this new single from The Magician. See what I did there? Music journalism of the year right there. Sorry, sometimes there’s just not a lot to say about a track that can’t be experienced much more viscerally by just listening to it.

Backed by vocals from Jeppe (yeah, the “I’ll GET YOU!” shrieking fellow from Classix’s former single), Plastic Plates filter this one through the fluorescent washing machine that’s leaking down in the basement of their studio and the results sound like summer might be sticking around for a little bit longer.

If the brooding, slightly off pitch minimal pop tint of The Touch’s new Sermon EP on Kitsune doesn’t grab you with its purty imagery, then the sewer dwelling remix monstrosity that Renaissance Man have woven out of some stark percussion and swollen vocal chops will absolutely do the trick. Plus, if you missed it several years ago now, The Touch provide a robotic tribute to R. Kelly with their endearing bootleg edit of “The World’s Greatest”, obviously a respectful tribute to the Pied Piper of R&B.

Renaissance Man 2011 Midsummer Mix

Might be midsummer, but this new Renaissance Man sounds like a tornado rolled through a beach and threw a bunch of tourists into the ocean.

That is to say, packed with brooding, dark techy dancefloor killers, including new tracks from Matias Aguayo, Renaissance Man’s upcoming remix for The Touch on Kitsune, as well as an original track from their forthcoming album – the eerie, Tiga charted and already critically acclaimed “Stalker Humanoid”, which sounds like it could be the soundtrack to a movie involving robot consciousness and a dystopian Tokyo in the future where it’s raining all the time.
