DJ Slow (AKA Myninecanpiss) from Brussels-based Freaks & Geeks crew (they throw down the top party in Brussels with their bi-monthly bonanza, So far they’ve had Martelo and fellow Grinder L-Vis 1990, forthcoming guests include Hot City and much more to be announced for 2010…) hit us up with these two mixes to promote their next party on October 23rd which will feature Parisian all around good guy DJ Koyote + the night also happens to be the birthday party for DJ Slow himself. A few weeks ago we told you about our partnership with Night Slugs and Dress 2 Sweat for the release of the “Night Slugs” EP from London producers/dj’s Bok Bok and L-Vis 1990. Well, the wait is over and the EP has begun to ship and has hit digital retailers already. Go grab it, you know that you need this in your life.
To celebrate this the final Dress 2 Sweat release – Bok Bok/L-Vis 1990 “Night Slugs EP” – and transforming into new label Numbers Jackmaster mixed a special CD with highlights from the Dress 2 Sweat catalogue + we also have the new video from L-Vis 1990 for the VIP version of his stellar remix of the Gucci Vump track “Sha! Shtil!”.

UK genius L-Vis 1990 is definetely one of the most hyped up producers in 2009 going from strength to strength with his funky yet bass heavy releases; he started out with the massive “United Groove” single on Mad Decent, moved onto the recent smash “Night Slugs EP” together with fellow Londoner Bok Bok on Dress 2 Sweat and now he joins the ranks over at the new heavy hitters in Sound Pellegrino with his stunning “Compass/Zahonda EP”. Christian Martin (of Dirtybird fame) gives us his more evil electro/techno take on “Compass”.
Two of the most hyped up (and rightly so) dj’s/producers at the moment, L-Vis 1990 and Bok Bok, were recently invited to Londons premier radio station Rinse FM for a little b2b action and they sure did well on this one. One mighty mix/podcast of the best the UK has to offer.

One of the best remixes of 2009? L-Vis 1990 is definetely up there with his insanely good rendition of the Jewish traditional influenced track “Sha! Shtil!” from new hype mystery producer Gucci Vump. This remix is bound to get alot of plays from us and of course pretty much everyone else. Excellent French label Sound Pellegrino is of course aboard the Gucci Vump train and the EP drops exclusively on Beatport today, backed with another remix from Downtown (½ of Finnish wonder duo Renaissance Man).
Londons own Night Slugs crew AKA dynamic duo Bok Bok and L-Vis 1990 are about to release a split EP on Glasgow label Dress 2 Sweat and it’s done in media collaboration with us here at Discobelle. The vinyl with two tracks from each artist drops next week and trust us when we say that it’s a beauty, not to mention that all four tracks are stellar.
