DAngelo-001

D’Angelo – Left & Right (James Blake Harmonimix) + Untitled (How Does It Feel) (L-Vis 1990 Own Way edit)

Harmonimix is the moniker of James Blake and he’s made a fantastic edit of D’Angelo’s classic track “Left & Right”.

BONUS: L-Vis 1990 dropped his own edit of “Untitled (How Does It Feel)”. (Via Hypetrak)

Prince William – Fade To Mind Mix 001

New mix by Fade To Mind label boss Prince William is bursting at the seams with things we love. First up, you’ve got a host of great new exclusive tracks from MikeQ, Bok Bok, and a gigantic forthcoming remix of L-Vis 1990′s new single from some unknown combination of producers that form the “Night Slugs Allstars”.

But even more formidable than the tracklisting is the way that everything in this mix blends together – putting Carl Craig and MikeQ back-to-back has never sounded so complimentary, especially with the long blends Prince employs that makes everything mesh together in hazy, brilliant nightclub ecstasy. Dim the lights and play it out from start to finish.

L-Vis 1990 – Lost In Love (video)

L-Vis 1990 (ft. Javeon McCarthy) – Lost In Love

This is the first single to be taken from the L-Vis 1990 debut album “Neon Dreams”, the Javeon McCarthy fronted “Lost In Love” is a bit of change from our previous encounters with the London producer and Night Slugs co-founder seeing as it oozes of neonlaced, discoinfused synthy goodness. The single is released September 26th and comes backed with remixes from Neon Dreams and Night Slugs, the “Neon Dreams” album will be out on October 3rd.

Martyn, Bok Bok & L-Vis 1990 Rinse FM Set

Bok Bok & L-Vis go back to back with Martyn, the founder of 3024 and generally nice guy (from the vibe of this radio show at least).

Bok Bok & L-Vis 1990 on Rinse FM w/ special guest Martyn – 31 May 2011 (download via Night Slugs)

Also, don’t sleep on Bok Bok’s newly released EP on Night Slugs, a love letter to early 2000s grime.

Slice & Soda – Year Of The Dragon (Villa Remix)

In which Villa flex their groove muscles while redoing Para One & San Serac’s hedonistic piece of retro dance music, really fleshing out the piano part and adding a thomping amount of energy to an already busy track.

Grab the EP on iTunes ASAP and you also can get your hands on the really good L-Vis 1990 remix, it’s called “The Ibiza Sunset Remix Dub”, maybe that will give you some idea of what you’re in for.

Round Table Knights- Remixes EP

Two reasons to lust after the new Round Table Knights remix EP:

1) Limited 300 copy 12″ vinyl pressing looking so crispy.
2) Erm, the music on afformentioned beautiful EP.

For example, L-Vis 1990 & The Neon Dreams ascend “Paparussi” to a previously unattainable level of vibes, and adding Javeon McCarthy’s fantastic vocals to the track is a brilliant decision that makes it sound immediately more organic and intimate.

Calling them the new Fleetwood Mac of the dance music world may be misinterpreted as an insult, but it’s anything but: the professionalism of recording quality (presumably Cubic Zirconia’s Nick Hook at work) and the pacing of the track never falters as it grows to a shimmeringly bright climax, and the final product feels polished and exciting in a way that few other releases lately have been able to achieve.

Comparatively, Mercury and Homework have a lot to live up to with their renditions of “Say What?!” – but both bring something special to the plate. Mercury adds on some soft diva humming under their escalating and falling house stabs, and Homework forgoes the vocals altogether, twisting the track into something unrecognizably different, but catchily enough that it doesn’t even matter.

Out on Made To Play later this month.

CASSIUS – ‘LES ENFANTS’ GESAFFELSTEIN REMIX

Damn Cassius, you have given us a lot of consistently good dance music over the years. And in keeping with that tradition, Ed Banger Records have been kind enough to give use a bomb of a track from “toughest artist name to spell of the year” contenders Gesaffelstein, who paint the track with some dark staccato basslines and trippy synth leads.

The package also comes with a Skream remix, titled “Skream made Zdar feel like he was 20 again remix”, which may be a jab at the age of Cassius, or maybe just a good humored drum’n'bass style throwback to early 90s rave with a funny long name.

Bowski brings in his own vocalist (Tom Cowcher) to croon the falsetto swagger of “I <3 U So” and then gives a heartbreakingly good dancefloor friendly remix.

To round it off, you may have already witnessed the production video of L-Vis 1990′s “jam sesh” featuring The Neon Dreams Regeneration, comprised of Cubic Zirconia’s Nick Hook and Tiombe Lockhart & former L-VIS 1990 “Forever You” collaborator Javeon McCarthy.
