Sha! Shtil!

One of the best remixes of 2009? L-Vis 1990 is definetely up there with his insanely good rendition of the Jewish traditional influenced track “Sha! Shtil!” from new hype mystery producer Gucci Vump. This remix is bound to get alot of plays from us and of course pretty much everyone else. Excellent French label Sound Pellegrino is of course aboard the Gucci Vump train and the EP drops exclusively on Beatport today, backed with another remix from Downtown (½ of Finnish wonder duo Renaissance Man).

Londons own Night Slugs crew AKA dynamic duo Bok Bok and L-Vis 1990 are about to release a split EP on Glasgow label Dress 2 Sweat and it’s done in media collaboration with us here at Discobelle. The vinyl with two tracks from each artist drops next week and trust us when we say that it’s a beauty, not to mention that all four tracks are stellar.

Here’s a sweet promo mix made by Bok Bok.

The Resistance Tour vs. The Rumble

Thursday, August 27th, 2009

flyer-rusko

This is mostly for the local peeps.

The Rumble, one of the biggest clubs here in Malmö reopens on saturday August 29th after a much deserved summer break and boy do they go out hard. The lineup for the first night of the season is pretty spectacular and pits The Resistance Tour against some Mad Decent heavyweights:

Rusko (Mad Decent)
L-Vis 1990 (Mad Decent)
Arveene (Clampdown, Dublin)
DJ Wool (The Glass/Plant Music/Awesome Agency)
Martin from Donk Boys (of Dirtybird fame)
+ Sweet Fred and Niklas Loman

We have something of a special treat for those of you that wants to attend the shenanigans and that is that we managed to get our mitts on 20 x 2 tickets to give away. Just go to the Resistance Tour site and register for FREE tickets – the first 40 to do so will get them!

Details after the jump.

Riton & Primary 1 getting a lending hand for their synthlaced monster “Who’s There?” (EP will be out next week on Phantasy Sound) from Swedish wonder Style Of Eye and from one our favorite UK geezers, L-Vis 1990. Both of them showing off their stuff but in way different manners. Style Of Eye delivers a strutty 8 minute opus twisting the synthline into circus mode and pitching the vocals down to scary, L-Vis 1990 on the other hand gives us a remix where he keeps the “Who’s There?” chorus + pressing the synth into manic mode all while adding some of that UK funky which you should know by now. (Thanks to Mad Decent and Darling Department)

All That Jelly + Heatwave

The Vicious Pop gang have a couple of stellar releases on the horizon. July 21st sees the digital release on iTunes and Turntable Lab of the new EP “All That Jelly” from Toronto producer Egyptrixx and it’s pretty smashing with housey synths and chainsaw basslines (remixes comes from new sensation L-Vis 1990 and ghettotech maestro DJ Godfather) The other EP that they’re releasing on tha date is the debut EP from Texan Deejay Yay Yay “Heatwave” which is on more of that ghettohouse/tech tip.

Big Weekend

Tuesday, July 7th, 2009

Berlin for five days left us exhausted but it was great fun. Back to normal routines, well at least until this weekend when London is up.

The mighty UK producer L-Vis 1990 – recent addition to the Mad Decent roster who is most likely to blow up in 2009 – gives us another stellar remix (we posted his remix of Crystal Fighters last week). This time around he turns his attention to US trio Lemonade and their new single “Big Weekend” (drops July 20th on Sunday Best), he hands us fiercely dark remix with a dirty bass and ravey synths.
